Bottles or keg?

Bethany, on August 25, 2020 at 10:17 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9
Hello ladies and gents!!

Trying to figure out what is a more cost effective option - beer bottles or cans or a keg?
Thoughts?

A keg is typically less expensive. I would rent/get a kegerator if you do use one to both help keep it cool and also make it look a bit nicer.

There's less waste with bottles or cans

Bottles and cans! For kegs you have to rent the keg, buy the beer, then get all of the equipment to keep it cold. Also, whatever is left over goes to waste. With bottles and cans, you can keep, or in some states return, any unopened bottles/cans.

This. Kegs are technically cheaper, but you’ll have to rent a tap and kegerator, have someone on hand who is knowledgeable on tapping a keg, and they result in more waste.

I’m not sure where you are, but I live in Georgia which is soaring with Covid cases right now, so for that reason I’m going with bottles and cans, to limit handling of a keg by multiple guests.

I think the keg would look nicer and it would be less expensive and but at the same time I think I will probably prefer bottles

It was going to be about the same for us. And bottles were just easier and gave my guests a variety of beers.

Cans are cheaper in the long run.

Cans & bottles can be taken to a recycling center after the wedding 😀
