Bottled beer... is it tacky

Kaitlyn, on January 14, 2018 at 1:12 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14
So my venue only serves beer in bottles or a keg. Is having beer bottles all over the place tacky? If we chose a keg it would only be 1 beer as opposed to choices with the bottles beer. What would be less tacky?

Not tacky at all....I would choose bottles to give choices and to eliminate waste....kegs cannot be stored...reused. will they have staff to tidy up the area periodically?

We did bottles/cans so that we could offer multiple options. Plus, you might be able to return unopened cases, whereas you definitely cannot return a half-full keg.

No it is not tacky. If that's what they have, than you go with it.

I don't think serving bottles of beer would be tacky at all. If that is the option that will allow you to serve a variety of beers, I would pick the bottles. No contest.

Not tacky at all. Could even do beer bottle wraps as the favor for people to use while there.

No problem with beer bottles - not tacky at all.

Not tacky, I would do beer bottles. I'm assuming you're going to have servers? They will pick up and throw away the empties. So it's not like you'll have them littered all over the place, right?

I had an issue with people walking around at my oldest daughters wedding 9 years ago.....we made the bartender pour the bottled beer into a beer mug before serving. Things have changed so much in this time that its fine to have people walking around with the bottles.
