Boring Bridal Braid?

Boring Bridal Braid? 1
Hello, I need some outside opinion on the braid in the picture. The professional hair stylist took one look at this braid and said “it’s so boring!” and “a bride should have more pizazz”. Thoughts on if this is appropriate for a bride on her wedding day? I thought it was gorgeous and would be nice with my long hair.

You do you! You could always have little pieces curled in the front? Or just have it how you want! The Braid is very pretty!

You should do your hair however YOU want to do it. A stylist who critiques your vision like that is not someone you want doing your hair.

I think it's a lovely braid. Are you going to have any clips or pins to decorate? Or keep it simple? Are you wearing a veil? I personally love it.

It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. YOU think it's gorgeous.

It’s pretty and I don’t think it’s boring at all. I see 3 different braid styles in one and also it’s different than the messy braid/bun with curls that we often see. You can maybe add some flowers if you choose but it’s not necessary.

Plus, what hairstylist says that to someone who they want business from? Wow! Maybe she can’t actually do that style and she’s trying to steer you away from it.

My only concern is where would you clip your veil? The braid is pretty though!

If you want to do a braid then you do you! If you want to fancy it up you could always add baby’s breath or decorative pins

Truthfully every woman will differ. Some of my friend's hair styles on their wedding was not to my liking but if they enjoyed it then that is all that matters. If you like it then do it.

My veil has a comb attachment so I think I could make it work. I didn’t know veils could come in clips!

That’s kind of what I figured and was hoping it was just a difference in opinion thing.

And thank you everyone who commented. I feel much more confident about my braid idea and was just so surprised to get such an instant strong reaction from a stranger.

Honestly, I’ve never seen a bride wear a braid like that. Usually, it’s at least a 1/2 updo with a braid on the side. And do whatever you wish!

I like the braid but instead of it hanging I think it would look great incorporated up but the same pretty braiding. It will look great with the veil either way.

Ummm, if my stylist told me the style I chose was boring, I probably wouldn't use them. Everyone is different and your style is going to be uniquely you. A good stylist should respect your vision for your day and help you find the style that will make you the most happy, not insult what you have picked out.

While that braid isn't "me" it's definitely a nice hairstyle and most certainly can be suited for a bride. If you love it, find a new stylist and go with it!

The braid is beautiful! You should do what you want to do and find a stylist who supports your decision.
