Booking Photography..

Brittany, on May 18, 2020 at 7:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 16
So I have 17 months until my wedding..is it too early to book photography? I saw that the normal time to book is 10-12 months but I found a photography duo (husband & wife) that shoot AMAZING shots at our venue, and I’d hate to miss out with them. But I don’t want to seem crazy trying to book them so far in advance. Just wondering if anyone else has booked so far in advance or am I just too anxious lol

If you find someone you want book as soon as you can! I booked a lot of vendors far out in advance and some that I tried to book were already booked for my date.

I booked my photographer over 14 months in advance and my wedding was pre-covid. I think you’re fine. Especially considering how many weddings are being pushed to 2021 and 2022... I think lots of people are booking earlier than norm in order to make sure they get all their vendors locked in.

That was another thing I thought of too we were doing November 2020 but rescheduled to 2021 right before the covid stuff began. I’m sure many are rescheduling to fall next year too

I’m 14 months away from the wedding and already booked our photographer. Especially if you found a photographer who you really like. Many couples are rescheduling their weddings for next year due to the virus as well, so I say go ahead and book!

I just booked mine today and I am getting married Oct-2-2021! I am a planner and I personally feel a lot better having such a big part booked!

This was the first thing I booked! I think that if you book things in advanced you don’t have to worry about it down the line.

If you found a superstar, go ahead and book them! I do believe 2021 will be a huge year for weddings, with so many couples needing to reschedule.

I would say book as soon as possible to secure your spot. I booked my photography wayyyy in advance because she is high in demand and I want our pictures to be perfected. Go for it Smiley smile

Hmm I am wondering how I am going to get a good photographer, I have a problem that my fiance is french and so our wedding relies heavily on whenever the government accepts her visa to come here. So we will have at max 4 months to plan everything for the wedding and have a set in stone date.

I mean it’s possible. I’ve seen people plan great weddings in less than 3 months. However, it may be a bit more stressful with the time crunch and you may have less vendor options to choose from since many will be booked on that date already (especially if you’re having a Saturday wedding since those tend to get booked first).

We were originally going to have our wedding in November 2020 but waiting last minute in planning I found that most of the vendors we wanted were mostly already taken, so instead of just settling on what was left over we pushed the wedding back. But I have heard stories on people planning great last minute weddings! Good Luck!
