Booking photographer

If it's already been a week, I would send another email (or call) and wait up to one more week after that. If she doesn't respond to that communication attempt, I would look for a different photographer.

I'm having the same issue with a hair artist. She was great at responding at first, but after I asked for the contract I haven't heard back. I gave her one week after I asked for the contract then sent a follow-up asking if she is still available and letting her know that I'd love to book with her but will assume she no longer has availability and will move on if I don't hear back. Tomorrow marks one week after my follow-up email (2 weeks total). At the two week mark I'm putting in my deposit with my second choice that is super responsive. Responsiveness will be so important as you get closer to your wedding day. Especially with a vendor as important as your photographer I wouldn't risk it. It's definitely a bummer when you really like the vendor, but I wouldn't risk issues later on

I had the same issue with a photographer and our makeup/hair stylist. I would email and never hear back so I started calling them and that worked and I stated in my emails in not so many words if you want to get paid respond to my emails! Low and behold they were quick to get back when they wanted payment. I also made sure to charge any payments to them on my credit card just in case I needed to dispute the charges. I will say on the day of our wedding all our vendors came through and it worked out great. It just took patience on my part to get them to respond.

Definitely follow up. This is a busy time of year for them - shooting and editing. The nudge might be all she needs. If it keeps up after that, find another.

I agree, go ahead and follow up again now - then move on if there's still no response!

I would follow up. She likely read it and had to run and go do something and lost track of what she was doing. I do that all the time!

Do you have a way to follow up with her besides Instagram? I would try calling her or emailing her.

Our photographer sometimes takes a while to get back to me but she's doing engagement shoots, flying all over the country and a million other things so I send her a friendly reminder that I reached out and she always apologized and answers all my questions. I would definitely follow up.

Well, it's been a over a week and still ghosted. I nudged her twice since then. Over her Contact page on her website (via email) and then another over her *very active* Instagram. It's been another 3 days since then. There's no listed phone number. I think I'm going to just move on to our back up photographer.
