Booking our Disney Honeymoon!!

Courtney, on August 29, 2019 at 11:25 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 24
After much debate back and forth over different ideas for honeymoons and wanting to go with the perfect choice, we have decided to go to Florida for our honeymoon and visit Disney!!!

I am super excited because I have never been, but I am also overwhelmed. FH went in the mid 90's. We are both 32. I've talked to a TA and will be booking through her tomorrow, but I'm still open to advice since this will pretty much be completely new to us!

We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside for 5 nights 6 days. We have 3 day park tickets with park hopper option and memory maker included. We also are getting the Disney Dining Plan. The first day because of travel we will get there late and may just check out the Disney Springs area or something like that. Spend 3 days in the park and then he wants to go to Sea World one day so we will possibly do that as well.

His only concern is he wants it to be romantic. I've talked with the TA and she says it can be very romantic! We watched a video of Splash Mountain and he said it looked like a kiddie ride, but I know that's one that is suppose to be a popular one. I'm going to talk with her tomorrow and see what suggestions she has for romance 😊

So excited!!! Any other Disneymooners out there? Wedding in April and honeymoon in May 2020!!

Hey! I just went for the first time in January for my 31st birthday!
We are going back in April for 5 nights/4 day park hopper and staying at Boardwalk. Then headed to Port Canaveral for a 4 night Disney Cruise!

Our big honeymoon will be in St. Lucia 6 months after our wedding so we decided to do a weekend mini-moon at Disneyland in California!

We are not doing a full on Disney moon. (A mini Disney moon 2 days at land to mix it up a bit) however we go to Disney world yearly.) They have a dessert party that you can actually do a honeymoon add on for. I have seen good things about it. Port orleans has the carriage rides which are super romantic. Definitely see the fireworks. Get the buttons because you never know the little bit of magic you may get. For all the dining reservations you make make sure to tell them it is your honeymoon. The restaurants I would Recommend are: magic kingdom: be our guest restaurant for dinner or Cinderella’s castle for dinner(this one he might consider a little bit more on the kid side fair warning be our guest my fiancé and I love) Epcot: coral reef restaurant animal kingdom: tusker house, Hollywood studios: Hollywood brown and derby. Walking through pandora in animal kingdom at night is super romantic due to the lighting, same with all of Hollywood studios. I’m happy to give more info if you want but I’ll stop there 😃

We go all the time, as we went for our minimoon.
Try all the rides! Try not to judge them before you ride them
there are several restaurants you can eat at for a romantic meal, we love Yatchmans steakhouse, California grill is great too, especially if you book during the fireworks.
Get a couples massage, they aren’t too pricy.
Spend time relaxing at the hotel

Oh yeah, make sure it’s on your reservation that it’s your honeymoon!! Tell people, wear the pins. The more people that know, the more chances you have for pixi dust! We got Champaign at dinner one night 😊

That's great! I have a notebook for wedding planning and I think I need one for Disney as well! I don't even really know where to start.

The TA suggested eating at O'hana for dinner one night. I'm a teacher and one of the teachers I work with says Be Our Guest is a must, but I think it takes 2 table service credits. I think we could make that work though if we skip a table service meal one day.

We watched a YouTube video last night of a couple sharing honeymoon tips and the guy said you go to Epcot and can try the drinks from around the world... like different beers or margaritas. FH seemed to be interested in that lol but do you pay extra for that?

I had something else on my mind, but I'm drawing a blank right now!

I think Disney can be whatever you make it! Disney World isn’t just rides and firework shows. ask your TA about adding on the honeymoon package, ask about more “adult” restaurants, there’s also the boardwalk that has over 21+ bars and such (check out jelly rolls!). My FH and I are talking about minimooning I’m Disney, we love it!!!

Epcot is awesome. It is more "adult" than the other parks so your fiance may like this one best. Yes, you do pay for the drinks and food, but it's cool because you can "travel around the world" and have food and beverages that are custom to those countries and not typical park food. If you go into the Mexico pavilion there is a bar with an extensive list of Margaritas. My personal favorite it the Avocado Margarita.

    Congrats and have fun!

The guy in the video last night said that he liked Epcot the best.

My fiance said last night that he just didnt want to go on a lot of kiddie rides, but he wasn't opposed to meeting characters 😂

    Some non-kiddie ride suggestions:

    Epcot: Test Track, Soarin

Animal Kingdom: Avatar Flight of Passage (haven't rode this one yet, lines were always super long), Dinosaur, Expedition Everest (my fave), the Safari (you see live animals)

Magic Kingdom: Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain. Some that may be "kiddie", but I love - Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Pirates of the Caribbean & the Little Mermaid.

Hollywood Studios: Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, Slinky Dog Dash, Millennium Falcon (this will probably have a crazy long line), Toy Story Mania (kind of kiddie, but it's interactive and competitive). I would suggest going to Hollywood Studios first thing in the morning if you wanted to go to the new Star War's Galaxy's Edge area. They just opened it to the public it's going to be crazy busy. I got a sneak preview of it a couple weeks ago before it was opened to general public and got to ride the Millennium Falcon ride which is a simulator ride and was interactive. If you're not into Star Wars or have never seen a movie (like me lol), you may just want to skip over this.

Also, research how to do Fast Passes. It's free, but there's guidelines and restrictions to it.

I want to do the drinks around the world as well! I do believe that was an extra cost (I don't have my binder with me) and I havent figured out the credits yet as we just decided to add that onto our trip as we cant book till 330 days out Smiley sad but it really depends on you and your fiance because be our guest is a crowded big loud character meet and meal sort of thing, very pretty. I have a binder for disneyworld I can send you pics or something too?? I love watching DFB guides youtube channel. Aj is amazing! I have spent tons of hours planning our honeymoon already and my parents are going at the end of September so they'll give a little idea for stuff too but I've narrowed down most recommended, things to do for free, things to do that cost extra in or around the parks, etc! Also, Brogan Tate XOs youtube specifically her Disney stuff and for general wedding stuff, Jaime Wolfer is a wedding planner, her youtube is amazing too!

Aw, we’re going to Disney for our mini-moon! We live in South Florida, so it’s only a 3 hour drive for us. We’re staying at the new Gran Destino Tower. We’re going to get a couple’s massage and go for a carriage ride! We’re also going to go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. I haven’t been since I was a kid, and FH has never been to MNSSHP!

    We're going to Disney/Universal, too!

I haven't been since I was 7, DH has never been, and neither of us have been to Universal.

Our friends are all Dizgeeks, so we're going to hit them up for tips and tricks, and DH has a TA friend, so we hope to get some discounts/tips that way.

    Have fun!!!
