Boobs...boobs everywhere

Krystle, on September 23, 2018 at 2:50 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
So, I took my dress for a fitting today and I am in tears. Not only do I look bumpy with two pairs of spanx on, but there is so much cleavage. It would have been tasteful had I loset the weight I said I would (jokes, right?). But now here I am a whooping 38DDD-F with a low cut dress. Any advice on how to close it up/bring back some modesty without buying a new dress?

Hm, my daughter is having this same issue. Neither her or Remember so much booby hanging out of her dress when she first tried it on in the store. It was a clearance dress do she bought the dress she tried on. This is the difference.: it’s the Spanx or for her, the corset she bought to wear under the dress. The seamstress has added ‘ modesty panels’ to try and add coverage but they didn’t lay right so they’re trying to rework them. I don’t know why she didn’t suggest removing the corset and adding cups to the dress. Ask your fitter for solutions. Take off your undergarments and see what the seamstress can do for you.

Add a sheet bolero jacket or a sheer cape. If you add the cape, you'll probably not need a veil.

Can you have cups seen into your dress? All the spanx/shapeware and bustiers I tried with mine made me look HORRIBLE! And I tried on at least 5 things. They all gave me back fat I didn’t have and made me look bigger than I was. All of that was gone with the cups sewn in. Ask your seamstress if that would work with your awesome boobs.

I've seen some body suits that are illusion with lace on them that could offer some coverage without changing the look of the dress

    Talk to your seamstress.

This is their specialty and can help you find a solution that you’re comfortable with.

Thanks, ladies. I’ve tried googling modesty panels but can’t really seem to find anything. The problem is the dress is so sleek I’m not sure how to close it up, the seamstress wasn’t the most helpful and said I’d have to tape my boobs (which I tried and it fell off within 5min). I don’t think I can get any of Yen original fabric because it would need to come through customs which takes a while. Sorry for the zoom in but this is what I am unfortunately working with. And let’s not even get started on my stomach Smiley laugh

Could you get some lace fabric and have her sew it over some of your cleavage? You could use the same lace for a veil to pull it all together!

I’m a DD (sometimes triple depending on the bra), so I feel your pain! No matter how hard you try to be modest, it’s not easy covering them up. I liked the idea someone threw out about a piece of lace sewn in! Would look classy and add just enough to make you feel like you’re not showing too much!

Also, my dress fit everywhere except slightly tight around the back (the area where a bra strap would normally go). I said the same thing about just losing a little weight to make it work as opposed to ordering a size up. I’m 5 weeks out and praying it ends up fitting as expected.😩

Hi Abbi! First off, I think a great way to distract from lots of cleavage in a wedding gown is to add some sheer mesh or lace! I know your wedding is just around the corner which is so exciting! Have you figured out the adjustments you needed to make for your dress?

I bought a bustier and then had it altered, which help with those issues.
