Boba bar

brittany , on January 25, 2019 at 10:49 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 9
Hello everyone! My fiancé and I want to do a boba bar for our wedding reception. Has anyone done this? What is the best way to go about it? Do it ourselves and have them pre-made or go through a boba place and see if they cater? There are no boba shops within an hour of where we live which is also the same place we are having the wedding.

It’s milk tea with boba which are tapicoa balls. So instead of having a candy bar we would want a boba bar so the guests can customize various milk tea with boba and other toppings

Sorry, I dont know how to go about it. I just wanted to say that's a really creative idea and never seen it done. I would say look into Vietnamese restaurants.

Hi Brittany! I love boba! I google boba bar and found this picture, maybe you could do something similar?

it may be worth calling boba places to see if you can buy catering stuff from them and pick it up beforehand, and if not you can buy the bubbles and everything and set it up like this

You may want to see if local places cater. I know here in my area, Bay Area they have boba spots that cater. A simple google search will bring many of them up. We are planning on doing an ice cream bar because we have a summer wedding. We are concerned over it melting and keeping it safe to consume so therefor we are getting a serviced table. It costs more to have a manned table but food safety is huge. You don’t want your guests getting sick.

I’ve never seen it done and have no advice, but as a guest, I would love this! Boba is so fun and it would be so different to see it at a wedding.

Hi! We're trying to do the same thing for our wedding and we have the same problem as not having a Boba place within an hour of our venue. Were you able to make your boba bar happen??

Love Boba! You could get them in your wedding colors!

There are a few places on line to be able to buy them. (They are also called tapioca pearls )

    Fun idea

I would have someone do it for me. I'm all for DIYing but the thing with boba is that it is very temperamental. For example, if your liquid is too cold it will be hard, if its too hot theyll become mushy, not enough liquid becomes stuck together, etc Maybe get a boba store to mass cook some boba for you and give you the syrup with it, and then you can put them in a big pretty bowl yourself exactly how it was given to you from the store.

Also, a lot of people don't actually like boba (although I love it), so I would definitely recommend keeping it separate from the drink you choose so guests can pick whether or not they want the pearls
