bm gifts that are not robes, glasses, or bags...

Melanie, on July 1, 2019 at 10:49 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18

It's all I'm finding! I don't feel as though those options are good for anything other than photo ops the day of. I want to give my girls something that is personal (Without monogrammed initials) and something that is useful to them.

What did you get your ladies that are/were by your side that was easy on the budget?

A good suggestion I always see is to shop for them as individuals as if it were their birthday. Good luck! 😊

I bought all of my ladies earrings. They aren't intended for them to wear at the wedding. Instead, I am giving them all different earrings and I tried hard to select earrings that match their individual styles. I want them to feel like I took time to choose something for each of them specifically. But I wanted them all to be kind of the same thing so it didn't seem like I was buying more for one of them and less for another.

Put together your own little spa in a jar. Get a big mason canning jar and you can get travel size items (lotion, bath bombs, body wash, eye masks, etc). To give your bridal party.

Booze! As a BM, unless I was gifted the dress, hair or makeup I would not want more stuff. If your friends like wine, you could give each gal her favorite (Prosecco, Pinot, Cab, etc). Many women have sensitive skin or are particular about skin care stuff so careful with lotions, bubble bath, masks, etc. A gift certificate for a manicure night be nice and not too expensive.

It’s a know your people situation. I did personalized music boxes each different and with their names on top. Two likes them for jewelry and the third collects music boxes. These were on the higher end money wise. I also did charm bracelets with things that matched each individual but sorta connected us all. These were very inexpensive. Also writing a letter cause I’m the mushy type.

Ive kind of went a little overboard because, well, guest bc I love my girls lol.
    I gave 2 adult bridesmaids:
*Maid and Matron of honor are both getting:
    1. Robes (not because I necessarily wanted the photo op but because they both said they absolutely want pictures of all of us in robes). I picked out ones they like, that are very comfy and soft and in their favorite color.
    2. Their favorite bottle of wine (They're both big wine drinkers) as well as a personalized wine glass.
    3. Dove hand cream
    4. Burt's Bees Wax Melts in their favorite scents
    5. A chapstick holder (it actually clips onto their name badge for work. We all 3 work in healthcare so its a nice extra to have during a busy day) plus some vaseline chapstick to go in it.
    6. Their wedding hangers
    7. White gold Monogrammed necklace (i know you said you didn't want monogram, I myself own NOTHING Monogrammed, but they both like everything Monogrammed)
    8. Bestie Book off Amazon
    9. Personalized frame
    10. Cute beach towel

I also bought their dresses, jewelry for day of and am paying for hair and makeup

I was thinking sweatshirts, but that might not be budget friendly

I got personalized passport covers because each of mine is an avid traveler. I am not a huge fan of the "traditional" gifts. My sister got her BMs all a necklace that she thought they would like individually. There are lots of options! A nice bottle of wine & non-personalized wine glasses, gift certificates to get a facial or their fav restaurant.

I gave them weekender bags I got from Etsy! I gave it to them at the rehearsal dinner, so it wasn't a "photo op." Some of them did use them for the wedding the next day, but it wasn't intended for that.

These are the ones I got:

I would suggest a nice gift card or something sentimental to each of them?Smiley smile

Gift cards for things they like - don't have to be the same for everyone. Sephora for the makeup girl, starbucks for the coffee drinker, TJ Maxx for the bargain shopper.

I agree with a spa day theme or gift cards.

I am doing handkerchiefs for my girls along with other stuff (hangers for their dresses, gift cards, proposal box). They are vintage from my great grandma (never been used) so they are sentimental and my girls are criers, one speech and we will have puddles.

I got each of my girls trinket boxes in colours I felt suited them and pancakes jewellery I picked out for their taste (a charm for my sister and earrings for my cousin) not intended for the wedding. For my bridesman who is an artist and a writer I’m getting a very nice pen engraved with his name and a note book with a quote on the cover from the musical we discussed in the very first conversation we ever had.

What about getting each one a gift card to their favorite restaurant or store? That way it is personalized, you spend the exact same amount on each one, and everyone is happy!

Here's what I got mine (will give them the night before when they stay with me)

    - PJs to wear while getting ready. They aren't customized at all, just a set from target.

    - Socks to wear while getting ready. Also not customized

    - Clutch purses with their initial on them

    - Nail polish in varying colors based on their likes

    - Mini body butters in different scents based on their likes

    - MakeupEraser Mini

    - Handwritten thank you notes

    - Just for my MOH, a matching earring and necklace set

I may also get each of them one different item they'd like (a book for one, FlipBelt water bottle for another, and a phone case with a picture of her dogs for the other) but I am not sure yet
