Blush veil with ivory dress?

FutureMrsGriffen, on July 30, 2016 at 8:28 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

Hi ladies! Just wanted some opinions... Here's a beautiful blush veil I found on etsy and was wondering if it would go with my dress. I'll attach a pic of both! Smiley smile

I love both ideas, but what colors will be in your bouquet? That could play off the veil or make it look out of place. The only other concern I would have is that the veil is more edgy/modern, whereas the dress is more romantic/classic (it's so beautiful, btw!)

Honestly, it's going to look really weird in your photos. That ONE carefully lit photo where the model is pulling it in so it plays off her very-similar lip color? That's not at ALL how it's going to look in real-life situations on your wedding day.

If you think you're still interested, go get a half-yard of pink tulle from a fabric store and pin it to your hair while you have the sample dress on.

Bhldn.com has a blush veil (the cloudbreak veil) that is a little more subtle. I'd look at that too!

I don't like it. I think it would take away from both you and the dress.

I got samples from another Etsy seller of her tulle veils and one was a shimmer blush. I held it up against my dress and you can't hardly see it. See if this seller does sample swatches and then hold it up to your dress, see what you think.

I'm not fond of the combination. I would stick to your veil matching your dress. What about a pink dress??? Now that would be amaze!

Both are great, just not sure together. Is your bouquet going to have pink in it? That could help tie them together.

It could look dirty if you put a blush veil with an ivory dress. I'd try to get a sample first if you can.

I dont like it with your dress. Your dress appears to be vintage style, romantic. I think blush veil or pink which is what you posted is more punk or modern. I think they clash for your dress.

I don't think so in my opinion but it's what you think

I am in love with the veil. I love your dress also but that veil is seriously...like...I'm sorry it's just so pretty.

It depends on the other colors you have going on in your wedding but...like I said, it's gorgeous.

I am not sure I like the color of that veil. I also have a blush veil, but it is so light it almost looks white. I think you should do something a little less noticeable so it doesn't over power your or your dress

I had a blush dress, and when I tried white/ivory veils it was too weird. So, I would guess that the opposite might also be true? But I like the Etsy pic. I would suggest getting some tulle to try. My veil was made from tulle from Jo Anne's fabric that was pretty cheap.

From the pic it looks like your dress has a tiny bit of blush or champagne in the underlay of the skirt, but a different shade from the veil. I'm afraid it might clash. I agree with others who say you should try getting a swatch. Alternatively, you could wear a hair piece or hair pins that are blush and go with an ivory veil.

Thanks ladies! I think my biggest thing is that I just love pink. I see now that it could definitely clash, even a plain white veil with is stands out but the champagne veils I've seen were only "meh" so I'm gonna keep looking to find one! Thanks! Smiley smile
