Does anybody have any ideas for centerpieces that will be a blue and white theme?

What shade of blue are you using? I'm using baby blue in mine for my hubby's and my Vow Renewal. You can always find white vases and tie blue ribbon around them. If you are incorporating candy in your wedding, get clear vases or containers and use blue and white for the candy. What kind of flowers are you using? You can mix blue hydrangias with white roses, or other white flowers and place those in vases or containers with your blue and white theme. Personally I'm painting tiles (to use as our guestbook and instead of place cards) and terracotta flower pots in blue or white and placing potted flowers in our Wedding Colors in them and using them instead of table cards (on the outside of the pot on one side putting our table names and the other with our names and dates). You can find blue or white bud vases and place a flower bud in each one. Candles in blue and white maybe or place a white flower with blue beads inside a vase and submerge the flower. Best of luck.

    Hello,

I think blue and white wedding themes are going to be very popular this year. White flowers are very easy to find most of the year, there are roses, spray roses, gerbera daisy, stephanotis, gardenia, wax flower, babys breath, lilies etc. Blue flowers are a little more difficult in some seasons. The best season for blue flowers is late spring and summer. The easiest blue flowers to use for weddings are delphinium - it comes in light and dark blue. It also has two varieties that look quite different - hybrid delphinium and bella donna delhpinium. There is also blue hydrangea, iris, misty blue, scabiosa, and cornflower. My company www.freshrosepetals.com sells fresh cut flowers grown in California. You might want to take a look if you are interested in saving money and making your own blue themed centerpieces.

I know that blue flowers are a little difficult for centerpieces. Why don't you try something different and have mini wedding cakes at each table for the centerpieces. Each Cake will serve that table, and you could set-up a tiered cake as your reception centerpiece, but have only one tier that is cake for your and your fiancee to cut. The other tiers using a 'dummy' cake. This is a very unique idea, you could incorporate your wedding colors and theme, and your guests would surely be WOW'd!! Well I'm not using centerpieces at my wedding, but if I did I thought that this would be cute. Use these photo vases and then you could put little blue and white flowers in them or colored rocks or even candles. I found an example here.

    Hope that helps.

Blue and white floral arrangements can be very pretty! Blue flowers include hydrangea, hyacinths, muscari, blue thistle, delphinium, gentiana, forget me nots, and tweedia, and those cover many different shades of blue. you can also use some shades of purple with blue tones. as for white flowers, your choices are almost endless! Smiley smile hydrangea, roses, gardenia, lisianthus, peonies, and much much more. It all depends upon the design style you prefer. Your florist should be able to work with you to figure out what like the best. Best wishes!

My wedding colors are royal blue and white... The table cloths are going to be a mix of white and blue. The bridal party bouquets are going to have white roses, blue baby's breath and so on... As for centerpieces, I am using floating candle bowls with blue, white, clear stones inside along with a water activated led blue rose. The outside of the bowl has ivy and blue and white silk roses. The favors are royal blue bags that have been personalized in white. Our cake will also have royal blue and white roses. Efavormart.com and Orientaltrading.com are good places to look for items...

Hi Megan C., and congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I got married two years ago, and my colors were royal blue, white, and silver. Since my husband and I love the ocean, we went with a nautical theme. We used blue candles from PartyLite (I'm a consultant) to add color, daisies, and seashells for our centerpieces. We were working on a budget, so it was very cost effective. Candles are very easy to "dress up"...all you need is some flowers and tulle. If you would like more information about PartyLite, check out my wedding wire page: www.weddingwire.com/brillianceonabudget or my website: www.jessietheflamevendor.wetpaint.com

    Hope my info helps!

Hi Megan and congratulations on you engagement and upcoming wedding! Blue is a hard color to use with flowers. There aren't that many naturally blue flowers. Keep in mind, that you don't want to put tone on tone, in other words, don't put blue flowers against the same color blue dress. Why? Because you won't see the flowers, they will blend with the dress. I just did a wedding on Sunday, and the girls wore navy blue dresses. The bride was on a budget, so we did one stem of white stargazer with 2 stems of light blue bella donna and greenery. The stems were wrapped with ivory satin ribbon and a simple shoestring bow. Very simple and very inexpensive. For centerpieces we did light and dark blue bella donna with blue iris. They looked stunning!
