Hello! For those of you who blocked off rooms at hotels for wedding guests how does it work? I want to block rooms in advance but I'm not sure how many...if you block off too many rooms are you responsible for paying for them.?

Like Kristin I used Kleinfelds. They were super easy and accommodating. No fees or anything. They were just the brokers to get done. Our wedding is on a Sunday and we have the block to check in on either Friday or Saturday and check out on Monday.

Our hotel was awesome and gave us the discounted rate after the deadline expired. We asked. They complied. We didn't expect them to say yes but hoped for it and they did.

Just wanted everyone to know that even if the deadline expires, you can always ask them to honor the rate. They might not, (and that is their right) but they may.

    Always ask.

I blocked 10 rooms at a Hyatt without any penalty for unused rooms. They just get released 3 weeks before the date. I only blocked Saturday and Sunday nights (Sunday wedding), but they're honoring the discounted rate starting Thursday night. They'll add rooms as needed.
