Black mask removed all my facial hair!

Rachey, on September 25, 2014 at 5:17 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

Holy crap ladies have you ever tried the Boscia Luminizing Black Mask? It's hilarious looking, it looks and feels like latex and sticks to your face like glue. I bought it from Sephora to review the product and it was more painful to remove and probably more damaging than any mask I've ever tried. Def don't use this close to your wedding day!! Or any day for that matter. I posted a videoSmiley smile Here it is two days later I'm breaking out....

Ouch! I break out every time I use wax. I wonder why the break out though- I always thought it was due to the heat that I broke out.

I use the boscia warming facial cleanser and I really like it. I've never tried the black mask though!

Laura, I've waxed before and this hurt far worse because you have to peel it off slowly so it was like removing one tiny hair at a time, owie! I prob broke out because it removed a couple layers of my skin, which usually happens when I wax my upper lip (that's where the breakouts are). I have to admit I did have a nice glow afterwards, but my face was tender until the next day.

Waxing leaves breakouts due to open pores, then people put lotions or makeup or just general dirty & oils get on them.

@MrsMatthews, yes I have a beauty blog where I review beauty products with a focus on anti aging. No makeup though, I SUCK at makeup and usually wear very little haha. My sister on the other hand used to work for MAC and she's a makeup wizard, I didn't inherit the gene unfortunately. @Andi, you would have no eyebrows left if you put this mask on your eyebrows. I tried to emulate the picture on the box and thank goodness I did. Here's my blog if you want to check it out. I actually have some wedding related articles I've posted a couple before on weight loss and lemon water etc. http://www.womensblogtalk.com/

@jobu, I may try the warming cleanser, I like that all the Boscia products are natural with no preservatives. Does it really warm up when you use it?

@Rachey yes it really does! That's what I like about it, that it is natural. It gets warm but not too hot and it's really soothing while also cleaning. I recommend it!

Do you have a good recommendation for a mask that doesn't hurt as bad?

@Kirsten, Bliss makes a good one called "Steep Clean" facial mask but it's not a peel off. The bottle has two parts to it, keeping the ingredients separate until you dispense it, then you mix it in your hands and apply and leave it on like 20 minutes and wash it off. Works really good to clean pores, brighten the skin and dissolve dead cells. It cost $55 from Sephora but it lasts forever, it's always been one of my faves!

@andix, your friend is gorgeous! I always look so plain in my video reviews, lol. I should wear more makeup.

Kirsten, I totally forgot, I also just bought a sample of the Bliss Triple Oxygen 3 step "facial in a box", I'll be trying this one next so I'll let you know how I like it, it sounds intriguing. Step 1 is a bubbling energizing mask, Step 2 is a spa strength glycolic acid pad, and Step 3 is is triple oxygen "glow" cream. The facial in a box was $12 and it has two treatments, so before you spend the big bucks on a big kit, I thought this was a great way to try it.
