Black envelopes??

MissWtoMrsH, on September 30, 2016 at 5:11 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

Hi all!! Haven't posted in awhile because I took a break on planning with school starting back but now I am back into the full swing of planning!!! So my question is, I want to use black outer envelopes for my invites. Has anyone had an issue with this? I browsed the net and cant seem to find the answer. I just want to be sure there won't be a problem with delivery.

My cousin had dark red RSVP cards and gold as the address color and she had a lot of RSVPs take forever to come back i would with a light envelope instead.

My save the date envelopes are dark blue. The only issue I had was finding a silver colored pen to write addresses. There shouldn't be a problem with delivery as long as the addresses are clearly visible!

As long as the ink is legible, there shouldn't be a problem delivering them. If you're addressing them yourself by hand, I recommend using white gel pens! We used them for our guestbook that had black pages, and it turned out great.

My RSVPs were in black envelopes and I have had no issues with them. I wrote my address on them in gold gel pen.

Okay great. I would like to use a black envelope with white ink. But I know they scan the envelopes and sometimes leave the black scan code on the bottom.

I had dark plum rsvp envelopes and it was very difficult to see the addresses. Just be mindful of that and you should be fine.

That's cute, but make sure you buy a white color to write with or even gray.

We did black envelopes and have no regrets. I used a silver gel pen I found at hobby lobby and they came out looking awesome. Rather than handwrite our return addresses we used stickers that matched our colors as an envelope seal. No issues with the post office and none of our invitations came back to us.

What color writing are you thinking of? If you want let me know and I can try to upload a photo.
