Black Dress Troubles

I have always been very non-traditional. And ever since I could remember, I've wanted to get married in a black gown. But I am having so much trouble finding them! I know getting it custom made would probably be the best way to go, but I want to try one on to kind of solidify my dream, ya know?

I'm getting married in a year! So, this girl has got to get a move on, especially if I'm doing custom. I guess my question is: does anyone know of any shops that carry black gowns? Or any customs suggestions? I'm located in Ohio, I'm willing to go just about anywhere in Ohio or northern Kentucky if I have to!

I know the designer Morilee has black wedding dresses. If you could to Morilee's website you can look up stores that sell her dresses. Then I would contact any of them that are close to you to see if they have any of her designs in stock in black.

One of my friends got a gown from a consignment shop and had it dyed black. Honestly it came out amazing and wasn't too hard to do!

I highly recommend Maggie Sottero. My friend bought a black dress from that line and it's GORGEOUS, I'm obsessed.

Try prom dress shops! They'd probably have more options since colors are standard for prom dresses, and it would probably also be cheaper since it's not a "wedding" dress even though it would still be the same level of formality.

Thirding Cocomelody, that’s where I got my black gown! I think they have an at home try on program with some of the black dresses available too.

Their customer service was fantastic (both in-store and online). Highly recommended. Here’s a pic of what I got because I recently got properly sized for it (weightloss) and I fell in love with my dress all over again.
