Black and Silver or Black and Gold

Brooke, on November 26, 2007 at 2:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Hi again ladies, I'm new to this forum and my fiance and I are torn between going with B&S for our wedding colors or B&G. I do not want to put yet which one I want to go with because I really would like to keep things as fair as possible and not seem as though I'm being biased. YET at least. hehe... Thanks

I would go with Black and Silver. There are lots of shades of gold out there and they will be harder to match. I think silver is easier to match. What color are your wedding bands?

I would definitely say Black and Silver. I think that it will give an overall look of elegance. I think that B&G doesn't have the elegance and sophistication that B&S has. There are also more decorations options for B&S than B&G. You can also incorporate white in with the B&W. All three of those colors look really nice together.

Here are some websites with cute things with Black, white and silver.

Here is a wedding setup with white and gold, but you can image the white with black. It really is hard to find that combination. Not as common but you'll could start a trend of it!!!

Let me know if you need anything else. Good Luck!!

I would suggest BAlck and Gold - I have done chair covers with both colors of sash and Gold looks more dramatic in pictures and its very classy looking !

I would say Black and Silver for sure. There is an elegence about Silver. Gold just seems really gaudy. A previous post mentioned different shades of gold... I agree. Silver appears to be more stable...more consistent. I hope all goes well.

    Best wishes

I suggest you go with the color of your ring. This way, all of your jewelry will match the color palette of your reception.

Black and gold the meaning are so real because gold is the color of value ,gold has such a worth (ANd it looks so much more expensive even if just the same price as silver (funny thing is that silver will never be as great as good )

Becareful using black too much which ever color you choose need to be the top color and use black as the background on everything (for example chair covers do in the black and then the ribbon should be the other color) to much black can make things feel morbid.

Personally, I would go with black & gold. B&S is very stark; gold adds warmth, IMHO. You could add a third color as an accent; any color would go with B&G: perhaps you could use your main flower as your accent color. If you don't have any particular flower in mind, ask your florist what flowers are in season & available at the time & location of your wedding.

If you want help with your invitations, check out my website. I specialize in color scheme/theme weddings. Have fun!
