Bill Levkoff Dye Lot Differences

Jessica , on March 5, 2019 at 10:25 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
I have chosen the same style Bill Levkoff dresses for my bridesmaids. They will all be wearing charcoal. A few of them live in another state and have been asking if they can order from a shop near them where the dresses are also slightly cheaper than the shop where the ladies are ordering from here. I am worried about the colors looking different since they will not all be ordered together. Has anyone had their bridesmaids order from different shops, same dress, same color? I’m trying not to stress over this but it is a concern of mine.

Honestly, if it will bother you if they're not the exact same color, it's pretty important that they're part of the same dye lot.

Mine ordered theirs from different shops in different states and they turned out perfect! They ordered them on the same day. One of them took a lot longer to come in than the other, like 2 weeks longer than the estimated date.

Mine ordered from the same shop different times. I’m also curious if there will be a noticeable difference. Look at theweddingShoppe.com they were significantly cheaper than what the 2 stores had the dresses at and they ship for free!

I'm also doing Levkoff dresses. I'm suggesting they order it from my store (3 out of 4 live out of state), but only because they get a discount because I bought my dress from there. I went yesterday with my local BM and she ordered hers. We decided that the store will wait until they get all of the orders to place them at the same time so they are the same dye lot. It didn't really matter to me, but since it was an easy option, we went for it.

I doubt it will make a huge difference, especially with the charcoal color.

Honestly, I can't see the difference being THAT noticeable ever. Sure sometimes dye takes differently or may be slightly a shade off - but the dye they are using shouldn't ever be so different that it would look like an entirely different color - IMO. I think its more of a tactic for boutiques to get all of the business instead of only one or two. I got BL dresses for my girls and they said the same thing at the place I ordered when two of my girls are out of state. We did order them all through the same place and in the same dye lot but only because they got a discount because I bought my bridal dress there. If it had been way cheaper for them to buy them somewhere else I would've been fine with it.

You will be "fine" if they are different dye lots, in that it shouldn't be that noticeable.

But if you are someone that notices things like that easily, it will bother you, so I would insist on ordering from the same store.

    Two options:
    (1) Call your local store, tell them there is a shop in another state offering the dresses for less, and you would prefer to give them the business, can they price match? If not, all your girls will be ordering from the other store. I bet you they will price match... they would rather have more at a slight discount than none at all.

    (2) You could choose to pay the difference and have them all order from the local store - is it that much?

How will your out of state BMs know what size to order? Did they try on the dress locally before ordering it from your store? That seems like a lot to ask of someone...

I made sure to pick a designer that they could find in a local store (NYC, Pennsylvania and New Jersey) as well as sending them all the BL size chart. I also left it up to them if they wanted to order it locally (to them) or through my local salon where they could get the discount. They all ordered through mine with zero issues.
