I got married pre-Covid. I consider our wedding size to be average. We had 100 guests. I initially wanted closer to 75 guests, but between our large families and friends, we had to go up to 100.

We had a nice rehearsal dinner the night before, our wedding, cocktail hour, and reception was at a vineyard. It was a dream wedding for me.

If I had to do it over again, I would do everything the exact same way.

I want a big wedding but then I don't want to regret it and not have enough time to celebrate with all my guest. I feel my wedding will end up being small when it all comes down to it

Smaller if you think of the benefits of having time with everyone and not feeling rushed, it’s also much cheaper, you have the people closest to you to celebrate. We would have a smaller one but we both have big families and fiancé has a lot of friends... I’m more of a loner lol.

This is not my first wedding, my first wedding was 14 years ago and I was 21 and expecting so it was not the wedding I had always planned. It was small and planned in 6 weeks, I did love that day and it was a smallish (85 guests) wedding but those who mattered were there and that was all that mattered.

This time around things are totally different. FH and I have been together 5 years and we are getting married how and when we want to do so, well except for postponement thanks to Covid. We are actually having the big wedding this time around as it is FH's first (AND ONLY lol) wedding/marriage and the wedding I did not have the chance to have my first time around. We are paying for our wedding most ourselves, our parents were gracious to help where they could, so it's been FH and myself organizing finances and details on our own. I will say the smaller wedding had fewer details, but my mother also planned it all on her own so I had little to do with anything.

I think when it comes down to the day and experience, it does not depend on the size of the wedding but the quality of the vendors. I have been to small weddings with incredible food, music and organization and had an amazing time. On the other hand, I have been to large and expensive weddings with little to no food, awful dj/band and chaotic lack of organization. Just be sure, big or small, that you choose the best vendors with references and your own intuition and budget.
