I can agree. Originally we were only going to have like 20 a small ceremony and dinner after at a nice restaurant. Then, I had this idea that I wanted something more 🥴 so now the guest list is capped at 80 and we’re having a full on wedding ceremony and reception.

And I'm sure it will be unforgettable ! 😊 My first plan was the same as yours - I counted people who would be able to come, as I live abroad, then our friends and my husband's family... it was around 20 for me.... And then HE showed me a list of his cousins, aunts, uncles... that we never see but it was clear to him that we have to invite them... So I had to forget my lovely restaurant that became to small 😉
We had ours pre-Covid. Our DW had 15, our local reception had 50. We splurged on both which we could do because we had a smaller guest list. I would totally do it again!

Omg October! That right around the corner, how excited are you? We capped out at 80 and invitations are going out middle of September.
We’re inviting 68 and there are 6 that we don’t expect will come for various reasons. We’re getting married on Cape Cod, with all guests traveling from CT or Philly. I’ve never wanted a big wedding and we had a rule that if we hadn’t gone out of our way to speak to someone in the last few months we weren’t inviting them. Because we’re so close to those we will invite, we expect the vast majority of them will attend.
