Right now it's big (250 invited), but if I find a venue I love that that holds less I could shrink it. We're also considering a destination wedding so I'm guessing 50%-75% will RSVP.

My fiancé has an extremely large family, as do I- with some of our very close members already on the list, we are already almost up to 100.
For example, one of his uncles has 10 children, 3 of which are married, one who is getting married in December, and one cousin who JUST had a baby. That's already 17 people just for that one family of cousins! Much of our family is like this, haha. (And then I have 7 sisters and he has 3 brothers- the numbers just keep rising!)
Once you add our extremely large families, wedding party, and very few close friends (we only have a handful each- if that), I expect us to be close to 150-200 invited.
We're going to end up with a bigger wedding than I would have liked, but it will be a fun and exciting day full of close family and friends. Despite the big size, we're only inviting family and friends we are close to and expect to come.
We started with small but as we spoke to family and friends, we realized that not only were people excited for us but also for the opportunity to see family and friends that used to be so close and just don't get together anymore. I'm 40, he's 35 and this will probably be the last wedding in our families for years. So we're inviting 150 and looking at it as not only our wedding, but a celebration of all our family and friends also.
