Any BHLDN Written in the Stars brides out there?
or in general soft tulle bottoms- how are you planning on bustling? I have my first alterations appointment coming up soon and I’d like to have an idea of what she might suggest and what others are doing!

need to envision without the veil there but this was the only back photo that fully captured the train. thanks!

Hi Kristin!! Welcome to the WeddingWire community!!! Smiley ring

From what I can tell, there are only really two types of bustling: from the top down or down up. With the way your skirt is falling on the ground, I'd say the top down is probably how I would do it, because your skirt could cover some of it and look like a regular long dress. I'm not a seamstress, so that's just my layman's opinion, but you can have your seamstress explain all your options to you.

This dress is amazing! I am also wearing it and have no idea how to bustle it! I've heard tulle is tough in general and you have to do an over bustle or American bustle I think it's called, into the seam at the waist of the dress? I haven't been to the seamstress yet to talk options but hoping there's something that works for this dress.

Idk what to do with this dress either! My wedding is outside in July, so I’m honestly thinking of cutting it off. If you decide on a bustle, I’d love to see a picture!

Update! I went in for my first fitting and they will cut 10 inches off the train. This still leaves a bit of train that’ll need to be bustled but the seamstress said it will be very easy to bustle and she’d do a three point over bustle. I won’t get to try it on until
June but she said it’d be simple. She told me it’d cost $150-$250. Not sure if that’s a lot or not.

Hi everyone! Congrats on your upcoming weddings!

I'm also wearing BHLDN Written in the Stars and debating between cutting off the train, shortening the train + adding a few bustles, and bustling the whole thing.

Clara, Ali, and Kristin, what did you end up deciding? Do you have any photos of the dress after alterations?

    Thank you!!

Hi! Fellow Written in the Stars bride here. I opted to do an American style bustle, which picks up the train from the middle and pins it to the waist at various points. In progress photo here:

I go for my next fitting on Tuesday(!) and can post another photo if anyone’s interested.

Im totally lost on what kind of veil to pair with this dress though! Any recommendations?
