bhldn Sawyer Dress

Amy, on January 17, 2018 at 5:20 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Hi,

I recently purchased the BHLDN Sawyer dress. I havent tried it on as I know it wont fit me yet... curious to see any real brides wearing it and how they styled it?

Thanks in advance,

Amy x

Yikes, how many sizes down did you go? You have plenty of time but I can't imagine buying a dress that doesn't fit. How do you know you'll like how it looks on you?

I'm a BHLDN bride, Marivana lace gown. What helped me a lot was looking at how they styled the model in the photos online, reading the comments/reviews left for the dress, and looking at photos of brides wearing the dress on instagram.

I didn't get go down any sizes not that it is relevant. I just know it doesn't fit me the way I want it to right now.

I know all that also but thanks for the input...

Im not wearing a BHLDN gown, but i googled the dress style you listed and found that its usually left alone, or with statement necklaces or a simple beaded belt. i really liked the dress with a belt. no veil, simple hair, and just these accessories, if anything. its a very classic, chic, minimalist silhouette so it really doesnt need much to be fabulous, but if you wanted to dress it up a little, i would probably pick a beaded belt. Smiley smile

have you tried on the dress or a similar style at all? did you buy it down sizes and know it wont fit because of that, or just dont know how it will fit because you ordered it and havent seen the gown in person? i couldnt imagine buying a dress that ive never tried on, let alone buying a dress i havent tried on in a size that wont fit me. i hope it works out for you - you have plenty of time.

Well, if you already knew then you maybe should have mentioned "I've done this and that for ideas but I'm looking for something different" if you didn't want someone to suggest it.

My deepest apologies for trying to help. Have a blessed day.

oops, necklaces aren't on yet in this photobhldn Sawyer Dress 3

I wore this for my wedding in March 2018. As a previous poster suggested, I kept it very simple (wasn't having a very formal wedding anyway) - I think if you're drawn to this dress you're probably more a minimalist gal anyway.

I did not have a belt or veil; for jewelry I kept it simple and gold colored - gold and white jade stud earrings (kind of like large pearls but not spherical). a gold bangle, two layered gold necklaces. Shoes were 4 inch strappy, nude steve madden stillettos (Felix) - I wanted shoes I can wear again! I hate my hair up, so left it down and just did loose curls. I did try on a sparkly belt at bhldn when I tried on the dress, but it looked more traditionally bridal than I wanted, and I think for this dress and the cut-out back you'd have to stitch on the belt and I didn't want to do that.

I let my florist do whatever she wanted, I knew from their style that I liked their flowing approach to bouquets.. didn't choose any specific flowers but requested no red roses/dark colors. I'm attaching a couple pics!
