I would go with the highest of your measurements and alter the rest. Wedding dresses run small, so I'm not surprised that you're coming in at 14/16. I imagine a skilled seamstress would have no issues with the sleeves or beading. Also, what's the return policy? If it's a flexible policy, I would just purchase it and see how it fits when it comes in.

In the fit information it says that it is fitted at the bust and hips. I think you have to go for your bigger measurements for sure however when you take in the waist you are going to change the shape of the dress.

My advice is to try to see if you can find a similar style dress at a local dress shop and see what it will look like once the waist is fitted. You will also have to take into account the large v neck that is there, that way you will know how much of your bust is showing.

Gorgeous dress! I would go with the 16 given your bust measurements. Don't worry about the number they are...completely arbitrary. I don't think a seamstress will have any issue with taking it in due to the beading, but it might be a little more costly than a dress without embellishments. Either way, it will be much easier (if possible at all) than letting it out.

ETA BHLDN has a good return policy. I would just try it!

I'm also very hourglass shaped, and honestly, I just don't think that silhouette is meant for our body type. It's very pretty, but not something I'd even try on, because I just know it wouldn't flatter me. It's too straight, no room for the curves.

But that said, generally, bridal shops tell you a dress can be taken in 2 sizes. After that, you're potentially losing the shape of the dress. And with all that beading, I wouldn't be buying something before having a seamstress look at it and say they can definitely take it in and move all the beads to the appropriate place. If it's not something you'll be able to see in advance, I don't think it's worth the risk.

I think the dress can be taken in if need be, but it might be pricey because of the beading. I would absolutely take it to a professional seamstress.

In a side note, I am surprised the waist measurement of the 14 is 35". That seems big to me for a 14. My gown is 32" (size 14). I wonder if that is a typo. (I know manufactures vary, but this seems like a large variation on "standardized" sizing. What are the measurements of their other size 14 gowns?

GO with your largest size and if in doubt, size up. I made the mistake of ordering a dress that was my exact bust and waist and 1-2 inches small on the hip and the alterations people were ok to let it out but basically said it wasn’t worth it. I have very similar measurements. Some designers (like Eddy K) make their dresses much smaller so go by the size chart.
