Beverages.....

Miranda, on May 21, 2019 at 6:25 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 19

Soooo I would love some honest opinions..... We are have a large but casual wedding reception July 6th on our farm. Because we are doing this at our home we have decided not to provide a full bar. Instead we will be providing 4 selection of beer, a hard cider, Naturdays, my favorite moscato, and possibly margaritas.

for Non alcoholic beverages we are going with Milk( we own milk trucks and want to support our local creamery), coffee, btl water, and lemonade or punch.

So my question is if you where a guest at our reception would you be satisfied with those options? do we need more of a variety or am I going overboard? Should we be adding soda to our choices.

Since it is your property, you could say "We will have [these drinks] available for guests, but feel free to bring your own drink if you would like something different."

I am likely doing this at my wedding because our venue permits outside beverages. We will likely have water, lemonade, beer, and wine for guests, and allow them to bring their own personal drinks if they are picky. I'm unsure at this point though.

Could you add one or two different kinds of wine? This might be a know your crowd thing but moscato is a dessert wine and most people find it extremely sweet and wouldn’t want to drink it on its own. For a summer wedding I would add a dry white wine or a rosé.

Most of of our family really arent wine people lol. Think boones farm or arbor mist people ...so I thought moscato would be a little classier but still be appealing to the crowd we are trying to please lol

I think that's totally enough choices. I would consider doing late night cookies and milk shooters though - I love the idea of serving local milk that you support!

Milk pays the bills around here Smiley winking and we are really proud of our small farming community that fh has served for the last almost 30 years so I really want to respect and honor that....actually one of our farms also produces their own cheese curds so we will be serving them as an appetizer.

We are doing a dessert bar of all of our favorites....choc chip cookies, rice crispie bars, lemon bars, brownies, cupcakes, popsicles instead of wedding cake so we are doing late night hot dogs and popcorn.

I'd be more than happy! We will just have water, coffee, maybe lemonade/tea and probably Dr. Pepper (it's FH's favorite)

I'd have a white & red wine option, but other than that I think those are enough options.

So my coworker this morning just made an interesting suggestion and I'm kind of agreeing with her my daughter is 16 and is my only bridesmaid and I allowed her to invite a handful a friends so that being said we'll have probably like 20-25 teenager's so she suggested I add some soda to our list what do you all think?

I think you have plenty of options. If someone can't find something they like, they might just be too picky!

As long as people are aware that there in no full bar then this is definitely enough! Just make sure people aren't expecting a bar and then not having one!
