Beverages?

We had two 2 liter bottles of soda at every table instead of having them go somewhere to get the drinks.

If you're not going to have a bartender to pour drinks, I would have cans. 85 guests pouring soda out of two liters could be a big mess. I would account for 2 cans pp.

With two liters you'll go through a lot more ice, but it'll be cheaper for the bottle deposit. I'd day cans though because they stay colder longer. I'd say at leasat 2-3 per person depending on how long the reception is, and if you're needing it for mixed drinks like rum and coke i'd make it 3-4 per person

Another vote for cans! So much easier. Have cups if someone prefers them.

We are doing beer and soda in cans. No cups necessary.

Well, my beer is being generously donated by my cousin who owns a craft brewery, so no cans for that. My 2 liters would all be kept on ice on beverage table, so no need for additional ice.

Definitely cans if no bartender. I’d do an assortment, and agree 2ish per person total sounds like it would probably be good— some people won’t want any, but some will want a couple. The other advantage to cans is that they won’t go bad if you have extra— but open bottles will. And definitely less mess!
I w ould also up the amount of water bottles you have, if there’s no other water source. Less than 2 waters per person doesn’t sound like enough.

I agree to go with cans if there is no bartender! 2 liters will go very fast if everyone fills up their own cup, and you don't want to run out!
