Best time for ceremony in May

Assuming you're having a 4 hour reception, that puts the reception start time at 6:30, cocktail hour would be 5:30-6:30, so for a 30 minute ceremony, you would start around 5. Your videographer start time depends on how much they want to shoot before the ceremony. First look, interviews, reading letters, detail shots, etc. I would discuss it with the videographer. You don't need a ton of time with the videographer after the major reception events are over, maybe just 30 minutes or so of dancing.

Hey fellow May 2020 bride! Our wedding is the day after yours, May 3 We're having our ceremony at 3:00 and ending around 8:30 (Sunday evening so most will have to work the next day). Is the six hours how long the videographer will be at the venue or the amount of time actually filming? Would you want getting ready footage?

Totally agree with Caytlyn! I would say, start your ceremony around 5 and then have cocktail hour immediately following.

As for your videographer, what are you wanting captured? It's all going to depend on that. 6 hours is doable to fit all the big events in and typically the videographer will leave after the reception events and a little bit of dancing.
