Best place to register?

Moriah, on March 27, 2018 at 9:04 PM Posted in Registry 0 26

We are trying to start registering, but there are so many places to do it... where are the best places to do it? How many places do people typically register at?

We registered at three places. Amazon was our favorite and BB&B was our least favorite.

I registered at BB&B and Walmart (because they are the only ones with Pioneer Woman kitchen stuff, and I loooooooove that stuff). BB&B was good for the most part. The consultant I got was really nice, and after helping me put together our "fancy" table setting, left me and my MOH alone to browse (he checked in a couple times on and off and led us to popular registry items). He was a little pushy about me NEEDING 14 sets of everything (plates, silverware, stemware, etc) when I only wanted 8. I dealt with it by agreeing then just going through after and decreasing the numbers online. But other than that, good experience.

Walmart, however, was HORRIBLE and I'd never recommend anyone register there for anything. I registered all online through my Walmart app and added things as I went. I double checked to make sure it was visible to others, etc. Well, a month before my shower it decided to switch itself to private, delete all my personal info from the list, but not delete the registry itself (so I couldn't just make a new one). I called customer service three separate times. First, they told me to go into my nearest Walmart and they could fix it from there. Nope, they can't even pull up registries from their computer anymore. Then, they said "oh it's a software glitch, we are aware and fixing it." Then I waited 3 days, and it still wasn't fixed, called again. The girl who I talked to basically told me I was lying, she didn't have my info in her system so I never made a registry at all and I just need to make one. Or I am such a silly person and I put it in my fiance's email account (he doesn't even have one). Wouldn't let me talk to a supervisor, even though I gave her the direct link that showed I had a registry. Oh well, I just let everyone know who went to my shower that I had the direct link if they wanted it. THEN, when I returned a few duplicate gifts I got from my shower, I spent 2 hours dealing with 5 different people about how the gift receipts don't work if it's a dot com order (what!?) And I need the exact order number if I was going to return anything. All I wanted was store freaking credit! So incompetent and I will never step foot in a Walmart again after this wedding. (BTW I didn't have any receipts for my BB&B returns totalling over $200. They said no problem since the gifts came off my registry... Took all of 5 mins to get my gift card).

We did BB&B and loved the experience! Was also considering Macy's but I like a good deal and I wanted our guests to have the option to use a 20% off coupon! We only registered for fine china/entertaining items though so it definitely depends on what you plan on registering for.

I personally prefer one registry if at all possible. Sometimes I feel that options are good, but then if you give someone too many options, they don't know where to begin!

Hope this helps! Happy scanning Smiley smile

What made BBB your least favorite if you don’t mind me asking? We’re likely only doing Amazon and BBB with a small possibility of adding Menards for a third.

The selection, rude staff, how frequently things were out of stock, and how much it sucked to return things.

I felt like there were a lot of novelty items at BBB which we didn't need.

We registered at Amazon and Target. I wanted two options (one online and one instore/online option). They both offer completion discounts and easy returns.

My vote is Amazon. You can find anything on Amazon and their pricing is really good. I use them for the majority of my shopping and I have never had an issue with them.

We did Belk’s, Macy’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, Crate & Barrel.. I wanted to keep it to 3 but family pressured us into our last one so I’ll probably get rid of my Crate & Barrel one just because we did it first and it’s only 9 things on it. Plus majority of our guests are closer to the other stores. I didn’t do anywhere like amazon & wayfair just because I’m a go into the store scan it person but definitely consider those too if you want.

We registered on Zola and since we already live together we are doing a honeymoon registry. So any contributions to our honeymoon is the only thing we are asking for since we are paying for most of the wedding our selves

Everyone where I live registers at Target. Seriously, everyone, for baby showers too. But I love Target so it’s all good to me. But I’d love seeing an amazon registry for someone too because I do a lot of amazon prime shopping so easy peasy!

Wayfair!!!!!! I can’t say enough about them!! Their customer service is to die for. They have the opportunity for “group gifting” and of course the discount to finish off your registry. They have some of the cutest stuff too!!! Plus anything that is shipped to you and 100% free shipping for the guest.

We also did amazon since we have a lot of out of state people plus the different things we can choose. Amazon gets free shipping too!!

What kind of sites are there for a honeymoon registry? I've been thinking of doing that since we already have a lot of stuff for the house.

It really depends on what you want.. for us Target was the best option. We wanted a place where people could go in and shop, too.

We only registered at Macy's. We have lived together for 3 years so we don't need the every day stuff. We created a small registry for some nicer glassware, cutlery, cookware and serving dishes.
