Best place for tuxes/suits?

My FH and his GMs will be renting from Men's Wearhouse - I felt they had the best options for suit/colors/shoes and a good price. It will cost $203 to rent.

He had also checked out American Commodore, and the salesman never reached out to my FH about setting up a fitting, so we crossed that off the list. Next was JOS A Banks, and they didn't have the burgundy color we were looking for regarding bowties/ties.

I think it depends on if you're getting a suit or a tux and what your budget is. Also where you live.

In NYC, Suit Supply makes the most beautiful suits and tuxes in lots of colors and styles but they are expensive. The J Crew Ludlow suit is a fave for fashion forward guys but the fit can be a little narrow.

My FH bought a tux at Saks because he will use it for other events like charity functions that he has to go for work. The brand he got is Hugo Boss and its super nice. Coincidentally my Dad went to Nordstrom in the DMV area and also got a Hugo Boss suit because he liked the fit. My FH has done rental tuxedo's from Men's Wearhouse in the past and they are OK.

Personally, I think guys look best when whatever they are wearing really fits well so I would lean towards buying a nice suit vs. renting a tux where the fit will be more questionable. But this also depends on your FH, your wedding, your dress code, your budget etc.

It's all well and good to say that the men look best in a well fitted suit, but the reality is that it can be asking a lot to ask the groomsmen to purchase a new suit for your wedding. You can get lucky and find a good buy even at a department store or Burlington Coat Factory. Alterations make all the difference.

My FI has used The Black Tux several times and loved their tuxes. Suits can be rented for $95.
