What is the best piece of advice you received about married life? One piece of advice that stuck with me was something my best friend's mother said when my best friend got married in 2004 (I just got married in January of this year). Her mom said a wedding is all fine and good, focus on planning your marriage (long-term), not just the wedding (one day). Another valuable piece of advice is to make sure to make your marriage your own -- how your marriage works only has to make sense to you and your spouse (and no one else). Words to live by! These two nuggets have been so helpful in navigating married life.
