Best Month to take engagement pics..

Maci, on July 5, 2015 at 8:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

I live in Louisiana close to New Orleans and I want to take my engagement pics farely early. I want the beautiful landscape of the summer but I don't want us to be drenched in sweat. Having trouble picking a month to do it in.

I'm sure it just depends on that particular day - usually Pittsburgh isn't too hot or humid in early May, but we took ours the first full weekend this year and it was super hot. It was in the 90s and the humidity was fierce. I picked an area of the city that had a nice air conditioned space to change though, and even though I felt like I was drenched with sweat she did a great job making us look happy and not gross haha. I love May though, and I wanted to get photos with the spring flowers to mirror our wedding time too.

April/May/October are the months that are the best for epics in my area to me.

I am in the DC area and we suffer from the 3H's during the summer (hot, hazy, and humid) so I know what you mean. Our intention was to have taken our photos in April/May of this year but our work schedules made that impossible. We are just now getting around to taking our epics this Saturday. Our wedding is this September. It is supposed to by 87 degrees and sunny. Our photographer wants the best light which for him is 5pm. So there you have it. We'll be sweating it up but looking cute. LOL!

I love the flower and scenery in the summer! Yeah its very hard to judge or pick a particular day because you will never know the weather. Im sure the photographer can always help with that! Thanks!

I've never been to Louisiana. I wish I would have thought mine through a little better though. We had ours in Maryland in November at sunrise and it was 19 degrees lol. I'm pretty sure our photographer hated us.

Our photographer likes to take engagement photos in an opposite season from when the wedding is scheduled. He says it makes for a nice contrast in the two sets of photos. Our wedding was in June, but our engagement photos were taken in October. A good photographer can do some really nice things with all the fall colors.
