Best man is our ceremony musician

My fiancee's brother (also his best man) has offered to perform our ceremony music for us as his gift. I may ask his fiancee (one of my bridesmaids) to play as well to balance things out. The only thing is I would love to have them standing up as our bridesmaid and best man in the ceremony but I'm not sure if that would be asking too much or if it would look odd as they would need to begin playing again at the end of the ceremony. Was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on how the logistics of this could work? Thanks!

As a wedding musician I think it’s too much for them to provide the standard ceremony music like processional, recessional. I think it would really sweet though for them to do one piece as special music during the ceremony.

I agree with Mrs. S. That would be a lot of responsibility with multiple roles. Maybe a part and then return to bridal party.

That sounds like alot of responsibility. It's a nice gesture but I would pick one or the other.

Hi Casey! What does your ceremony location look like? You may be able to maneuver this without it being too clunky, but it will definitely take some extra work!
I guess the musicians would then take their places in line after they've finished playing the processional - so while you're standing and waiting up front. For the recessional I'd see if there's an earlier place in the ceremony where they can duck back out to their instruments and be ready to play you out!
