Best friend is "giving me away"

Renee, on October 8, 2019 at 5:35 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
He asked me what he should wear and it stumped me lol What should he wear. It's a semi formal wedding and I'm not sure if he should wear a nice shirt, a vest, or a suit like the rest of the guys. Any idea? TIA

I would have him wear whatever he’s comfortable in.

He told me he'd wear whatever I want bc it's my wedding. He said something about buying a tie without skulls on it (because that's all he has) and I said try to find one with a unicorn to match the fairytale theme. He laughed and asked if I was serious. I said no but he told me he would look for one if that would've made me happy. Everyone in the wedding keeps telling me that when I ask for opinions. This is why I post on here for ideas and suggestions

In my opinion, I think he should look more formal than the groomsmen, but less than the groom. Idk if that's helps at all lol

The groomsmen and the groom are wearing the same thing. I have no idea what to do to make the groom stand out from everyone else lol It does help knowing he should wear more than just a nice shirt though!

My sister in law had the groom, her dad and step dad, and brothers wear different pocket squares (idk If that’s the right term) than the groomsman. I think that was a nice touch. I agree that your friend should wear whatever the groomsman are wearing

I think he should wear a suit like the groomsmen. Doesn’t have to match color but should match formality since he is in an esteemed role.

If the groomsmen are wearing suits, I’d personally have him in a suit too.

Agree with having him in a suit. He will be photographed with you, and should be dressed up! Grooms will often have a different color tie/vest/pocket square so they stand out from the GM.

Well we picked out all the dresses for the bridal party today. My MOH is wearing the same dress as the bridesmaids but hers will be in a different color. MOH-pink, BM-purple. We're going to have the best man's tie and pocket square match with the MOH's dress (pink) and the groomsmen's tie and pocket square match the purple bridemaid's dresses. I'm just not sure how to make FH stand out. He wants to wear purple bc it's his favorite color but that would match the groomsmen. So I'm kind of at a loss here

My suggestion would be to have all of the GM wear the same color, so FH can wear purple. If that is his favorite color, let him wear it! You could have the guys wear a neutral tie, like black or silver, which would look nice with both the pink and purple dresses. The best man should not stand out if your husband doesn’t. It will look like he is the groom.
