Best backless strapless bras for plunging necklines?

Michelle, on June 12, 2020 at 1:07 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 2 23
Anyone know of strapless backless bras that work great for some lift? I’m a 34B but I look flat in my dress lol I need some assistance. I bought rabbit bra pasties but they don’t stick on at all. Misses kisses looks nice but it’s $125.
Please help?

Have you already had your dress alterations? I think they can add in cups pretty easily to most dresses. Then you won’t have to worry about the strapless bra slipping. Good luck!

Lol they offered to add in cups to my dress during alterations and said they would create more lift and volume but I passed so not sure how much “push up” effect they have 😊

I’d have cups sewn into your dress. It’s so much easier! We are the same size and I had push up cups added into my dress. They were perfect! Talk to your seamstress about options.

I would ask my seamstress to sew in the extra lift. I'm having to do that with my own dress too.

My dress surprisingly came with a huge push up cups! I never seen anything like that. I asked the seamstress to remove it because I looked like a p*rnstar with a push up (my bestie said 🤣).

I got some silicone "chicken cutlets" for mine. They added a little volume (which I really didn't need) and a bit of support. Not any crazy cleavage or lift like Misses Kisses though, but a touch more lift than going completely braless. I considered rabbit ears but thought they would show without cutting because of the narrowness of my dresses straps. Also I know silicone pasties/bras don't irritate my skin at all, and I wasn't sure about the adhesive on boob tape or a rabbit bra because I've seen some scary pictures!

    I used these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KVKVCYD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They weren't great in terms of providing a lot of lift and I had to place them more east-west on the outer sides of my boob instead of directly over the front so that they wouldn't show, but they were better than nothing. At the very least I knew I wasn't going to have a nip-slip. I will say I just wore these for my elopement, so cannot comment on how they would do with a lot of dancing and sweating.

You can also get cups sewn in, which I love with some dresses but I'm not sure works with every single style of dress. In my experience, cups sewn in is great when the bodice is super fitted, but hard to do with non-halter backless styles. I bought this dress pre-owned and it had cups sewn in but they did nothing to hold me in place, so I removed them. I didn't have time to have my dress custom tailored (thanks Covid), so it's possible the right seamstress could have tailored the dress so I stayed perfectly snug and lifted, but I'm not sure. The top of my dress was illusion lace, which is a more delicate fabric, and the back was low cut, so I'm just not sure how well I could have been "held in place" in this dress.
I did a good amount of pinching and clipping of the fabric when trying it on and still think my boobs wouldn't have had quite the same support as they do in a proper bra, just because of the styling.

I have 28E. I almost lost all my last year’s vacation-record-weight-gain. 4lbs more to go, but it seems so hard with kids and lockdown 🤣

Ask your seamstress to make your torso area snug, and add the push up cups. If your seamstress doesn’t have the push up cups, you can order them yourself(?). I believe they are sold online.

Sewn in to the dress itself does not always work for uplift. It may sag with the dress. Unless your dress has at least thin spaghetti straps. These can me made with a line or 2 of seed pearls and crystal, or rhinestones, and the fabric colored strap reinforced for not stretching with thread like monofilament fishing line, takes a lot ot weight, no stretch. Something a lot of strapless gown wearers only can tell you, or complain to their dressmaker about after the fact, is that the fragile fabric of gowns is not stable. Every time your gown feels like it is slipping, you wait until you can tug it up with no one looking. But each time you tug, the dress to stretches a little. So now looser, it falls faster.
All night, most when dancing. A tiny hook at each end of a strap can give to put on, take off straps. So you can wear them after putting the dress on , to the ceremony. take off just before. Have off for pictures if you klike, and put them on any time, for dinner, definitely for dancing. Then, sewn in cups help. often there is a little pillow sewn into the bottom half and side of the cup. It fills much of the lower cup, and breasts are pushed up and a little in from the sides for cleavage. It works fine. But as hours pass, your dress will slip without straps.

I must have thought strapless low back.
With the snug fit midriff band, you can either have a stretch lace slip made, with cups sewn in the slip . lower than gown in back. or have them sewn at the bottom of the bra cup, free floating at the top under strap. And have the foam pillows in the bottom half of the foam cup. those give you cleavage, and straps keep it firmly in place . The midriff band is great support, with straps. The only issue is that some foam cups have a ridge at the top, that is like a bra seam showing. When that is the case, dressmaker sews cups to a net lining like a bathing suit cup is sewn to, and sews that in to the dress. Like an elastic lace bra slip, the lacy net keeps any ridges from edges of bra cups showing. That kind of cup and strap top, whether a halter behind the neck or 2 straps, is great for an uplift foam cup insert.
