Best Advice for Floral Shopping?

Kate, on February 3, 2020 at 9:56 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6

I'm in search of reasonably priced bouquets, boutineers and corsages. I am having trouble finding a florist in the area of my destination wedding, especially one in my budget. My budget is fairly large, however, they quoted me with some outrageous prices. Does anyone have suggestions on where I should go from here?

Thank you so much!!!!

    Hi!

My cousin just got married and she had a bouquet made from wooden flowers. The flowers were beautiful and realistic and everyone got to take them home after. Getting alternative bouquets may be the way to go if you can’t find a reasonable florist in the area you’re getting married. If you haven’t already, you may want to check on an area specific forum here or on Facebook that you can ask what others did or ask the venue if they have preferred vendors. And Centerpeices don’t have to be floral you could do an alternative that may give you the ability to get a bouquet from one of those florists that aren’t 100% reasonable and save on non floral decorations?
    GOOD LUCK!

Fake flowers are easy to get online like Etsy if that’s a route you want to go, not super expensive and just as beautiful in my opinion but we don’t have any real flowers for our wedding

I first was looking for DIY like fifty flowers.com and bloominous.com to look for ideas and prices. Then looked at Sam’s Club and Costco, which were very reasonable, but could not customized to my exact liking and quantity. So I saw somewhere, where brides were getting the floral from the grocery store. I went and got a quote and found it reasonable (similar to cost on bloominous), and very customizable (bringing in our own vase, adjusting type/color of flowers, exact quantities with a cheaper setup). I got what I wanted locally. Hope this helps!

I would say, when you go to a Florist. Tell them your budget first.
Instead of telling them the flower types that you want, give them your budget, and ask for suggestions on what type of flowers that will work within your price point.

You can get similar results with less expensive flowers in the same color family.
I suggest getting flowers in season to your wedding, they will be less expensive than a flower that the florist has to custom order.

We used Budget Bride, and really liked them.

I don't know if you could have them delivered to your destination, or if you'd have to bring them yourself (they tend to deliver very early), but they were nice fake flowers, and super affordable.
