Shhhhh.... I'm supposed to be Sleeping!

lol.... let me see what I can find...

The Bell of Truce originates from west Ireland peasant traditions, believed to be derived from St. Patrick's Bell of Will. St. Patrick believed that bells were important to his ministry, and helped him in performing miracles. He is said to have been buried with the iron Bell of Will he carried. Today, it stands on exhibit in Ireland's National Museum.

The Truce Bell, as an echo of the Bell of Will, is a bell that is blessed by the officiant of the ceremony and then presented to the bride and groom. The couple is then asked to give the bell a good hardy ring, while thinking lovely thoughts of each other and, most importantly, of their furture together. After the wedding the bell is kept at home as a reminder of the couple's wedding day. When arguments arise, the bell is put to its intended use. One of the quarreling couple should ring the bell to call a truce in the argument. This signifies the end of the

Disagreement - all conflict is over! The tinkling sound is meant to remind the couple of their wedding vows and conjure up the happiest memories from their wedding day as an end to strife.

Truce Bell. A bell is rung on the wedding day, the happiest day of the couple's lives and then is placed in a central location in the home. If the couple starts to argue, one of them can ring the truce bell, reminding them both of that happiness & hopefully ending the fight

*You could also ask your officiant to write a little something & let them know this is the idea behind it.

I also really like the ring warming

Ring Warming Ceremony - rings can be passed around the room on a pillow or in a bag. The officiant can explain a little about it right at the begining of the ceremony. http://offbeatbride.com/2009/08/ring-warming-wedding (or search google)

Everyone holds the rings for a few seconds and says a little blessing/prayer for them. Then by the time you do your vows the rings have made their way

all the way around the room and all your loved ones have given their blessings.

I was just joking.... I was doing laundry and was just about to head up to bed.

Although some have said that I must have a 6th sense when it comes to WW... a few times I login and see "Hopefully Hayley will be around soon" and "Good the Bat-signal worked"

    hehehehe Smiley smile

And here it is in a ceremony

To buy... I would just find a pretty bell. It can be one that will be loud, or something soft.

I really love the ring warming ceremony... do you think this would work with a guest list around 100, or would it take too long to make its rounds?

@ Amy ~ I think you would be fine, just have the officiant explain it at the start of the ceremony and start passing them right away. They should make it back by the time you need to do your vows.

    ~ you're welcome ~ @ all others Smiley smile
