Being different

on April 11, 2020 at 12:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 17
Do you ladies think that it's weird if I don't wanna go all out for my wedding. I don't want a bridal shower, a rehearsal dinner, I don't want a big wedding either, and I also don't want to wear a dress. I feel that on my wedding day I should feel comfortable, so I want to wear my normal clothes just in white. Is that weird?

Nope. Your event is yours. It’s a reflection of you and your personal style and taste. Do what makes you happy. You definitely should be comfortable and see YOUR vision through on your day.

I'm young and kinda don't know what I'm doing. So thank you so much that makes me feel so much better.

Not at all. The day is all about you and your partner’s love. I actually think it’s nice when you get a glimpse of someone’s relationship/personality through their wedding.
I also don’t want a bridal shower, a crazy bachelorette party (I just want to hang out with my friends) and I didn’t want a rehearsal dinner.
I’ll say though that friends & family don’t always understand that but it’s your wedding and you don’t want to be stressed out the whole time because you’re doing things you hate for other people’s enjoyment

Nope, it’s your wedding, not society’s wedding.

It's your day! Do what will make you feel special and make it meaningful to you!

We opted for a more traditional wedding (may have to change plans due to Covid-19), but I wanted nothing to do with a bridal shower, and we never considered traditions like bouquet toss and garter toss but planned to have a first dance and a cake cutting. Pick and choose what things you and your partner want and make your day uniquely your own.

I don’t think that’s weird at all. I know people who don’t even like the idea of a wedding at all. At the end of the day some people aren’t into being the center of attention

I think it is refreshing for someone to focus on being married rather than just one day. So long as it works for you and your FI, I say go for it.

Do what you think is comfortable! My parents went to the courthouse in jeans, and they’ve been married for almost 35 years now Smiley smile

I went with a micro wedding, but still wanted a dress. I didn’t have a rehearsal dinner, bachelorette party, etc...Everything was perfect in my eyes. Do what you want to do!

It’s your wedding! People may have their opinions but as long as you are comfortable for you and your partner, than that’s all that matters

Not weird at all! I am not having a bridal shower or rehearsal dinner. I am not having any bridal party even though I have 3 sisters. I am having a wedding I want and a white dress. But it's all what my fiance and I want. That's the only thing that matters. Don't conform to traditions just because.

I decided against a bridal shower AND a bridal party, no rehearsal dinner, and we are having a small wedding. Wear what you will feel comfortable in. You do you girl!

I think all the way your wedding day should be uniquely YOU! Everything you want, what you envision for your day. I was at a wedding where a bride wore a white pant suit/jumpsuit. It was gorgeous and so her. There's so much you can do nowadays.
