Beer, Wine, Signature Drink?

#TiffaniLovesJohn, on May 18, 2018 at 11:14 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

Is having only beer (domestic, import and many craft beers, wine with one signature drink tacky? We are trying to save some money and most of our friends are either beer or wine drinkers.

I definitely wouldn’t say it is tacky. Is your signature drink something you thin would be popular? If so, and if you know most people are beer and wine drinkers I think it’s fine!

We are just doing beer and wine but getting alot of different kinds of wines. We have ALOT of wine drinkers on both sides so we aren't concerned about doing much else

No, it's really perfectly fine. It's what we're doing. There are a lot of reasons to do it from cost to trying to avoid over consumption. We were considering a venue that didn't allow liquor and it really appealed to us and even though we're going with another venue we're sticking with a beer and wine reception.

Thank you, ladies! Yes, I think the signature drink will be some thing foofoo-ish that will appeal to the ladies. We are heavy craft beer drinks and some wine drinkers. It's the straight up and on the rocks drinks that are going to push the budget way over the edge but I have been observing what most of the attendees have been drinking over the last year and its almost always beer and wine.

It’s a great way to save money on the bar. We are doing the same thing, beer wines and his and hers signature cocktail.

This is pretty much what we are doing. Beer, wine and probably two signature drinks.

Not tacky at all! As long as you are providing your guests with some sort of drink option your good! So if unlimited beer and wine with one signature drink is what your budget allows that is perfectly fine!

That's what we did. It's call modified open bar. It's free to your guests, but there are only so many options. Our guests were fine with it.

Not tacky at all! I’ve honestly only been to one fully open bar wedding, but lots of wine, beer, and champagne ones! That’s likely what we will do and it’s a great way to save some cash.

It's definitely not tacky. We're doing something similar. We're doing soda, water, beer and mimosas. Then we're doing sweet jungle juice which is an adult lemonade.

Not tacky at all! I’m actually having beer, 2 signature drinks (to match my colors), light & dark liquor with different juices to mix with if they desire with different garnished. No wine. Yes, my family does wine for like a sit down dinner but to party they don’t. They say it makes them sleepy so we are tossing the Wine out for the night. We need them up & dancing. lol

I'm doing cases of beer, wine, and two signature drinks. My venue allows us to mix bottles of wine too. Plus, water, tea, and lemonade. No soda.
