Beer, wine & champagne for 225 guests?

MrsDamico, on March 9, 2018 at 2:44 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7

Hi all!!

I have seen a few budget tools on line here and there for how to gauge how much you should budget for alcohol. but I am still struggling and have a massive fear of running out.

We are having 225 guests in attendance and only serving beer, wine & champagne.

Already married folks, did you have this? what did you spend?

Bride/grooms to be - what do you plan to spend and how did you create this figure?

thanks so much for the help!

I have a budget of 1200 for 75 with beer wine and white wine sangria. (Almost 20% of our guest list is underage.) I have no idea how I came up with that number.

We are spending $11,000 on beer, wine, and champagne for 200 people. But we are getting married at a winery where wine is between $50-$80 a bottle and are required to only serve their wine. If we could bring in our own alcohol it would be a lot less.

Not sure how much, but I do know that stores like Total Wine will let you return anything unopened, so I would err on the side of too much. Can your bartender help you estimate how much to buy? Otherwise I'd use the calculators and round up, just in case.

Our venue offers an open bar. It is about $27/person for a variety of beer, wine and liquor. For 150 people it comes to $4000 (before tax and fees), which is about 10% of our budget.

Are you doing consumption bar or buying your own alcohol? Our venue helped us determine a budget for doing consumption.

We are looking at about $1000-$1200 for 80 guests- some of who do not drink.
