Beer to Wine Ratio?

Kayla, on September 26, 2016 at 12:36 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

The only alcohol option that my venue offers is beer and wine (supplied by myself, obviously).

My question is what percentage of my drinks should be beer and what percentage should be wine.

I'll need 900 "servings"

1.5 drinks per person, per hour.

If that isn't a large enough calculation, please let me know.

You should add a little bit more to your calculation just in case. I went to a wedding a few weeks ago that ran out of beer and wine right before dinner. Seeing everyone's reactions was awful.

@katelynn I definitely don't want that. I remember seeing that calculation somewhere, but I would much rather have too much.

That's what I'm trying to figure out as well. There are a lot of alcohol calculators online. I feel like in my case they over guess on the wine and underestimate the beer. But I know most of my friends and family are beer and liquor drinkers. I plan on buying plenty as back up though and if we end up with extra we will just take it home haha

First you have to take in to account your guest. You may have people who aren't going to drink at all but have others that easily drink twice that amount. I think it's always safer to overestimate than to underestimate. I find that beer drinkers tend to drink faster than wine drinkers so I would probably be prepared with more beer than wine. I would figure on ATLEAST two drinks per hour per person.
