Beer Me.

Mandi, on December 12, 2019 at 1:32 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10
Ok. I don't like beer. And I generally dont know anything about beer. Neither does my fiance or family.

But we are getting married, so I guess we will be providing beer.
I got a quote on a keg of Bud Light. It wasn't high. But my father asked me if getting Coors would be cheaper. I told him I didn't know. But I'd ask.Does beer brand really need to matter to my guests? Free beer is free beer to me. And theres no way to please everyone.Thoughts?

Lol! As a beer drinker, if there was only bud or coors I’d probably pass but that’s my choice! I think there isn’t much diff between cheaper beers anyways

If you two don’t drink beer and your family doesn’t drink beer you don’t have to have beer everyone else can be sober for a night and enjoy the night

Are you having wine and hard liquor? It’s your wedding and your menu should be about what you like. You don’t have to get beer, especially a whole keg. Bud light keg is pointless in my opinion. If you can bring your own, I would just get like (2) 24 packs variety pack of beer that includes blondes, IPAs or something like that. Look at stone, ballast point or Kona brewing.

I am a beer (specifically Bud Light) drinker and would say that most people are snooty and like one or the other. Coors and Bud are typically the same amount. Michelob Ultra is more universally liked by all parties but costs a bit more. I hate Coors but definitely wouldn't complain if it was provided to me. If given options, I have a preference but at the end of the day, beer is beer.

I am a beer drinker, I prefer Michelob but at our venue it is the same price for a keg because it is a domestic beer. Most domestic beer kegs are priced around the same, so Coors and Bud Light should be around the same price if not the same price. Any type of craft beer will be more expensive.

We had a lot of beer drinkers so we had several options: Bud Light, Coors Light, Blue Moon, Stella Artois, Corona, Fat Tire & Voodoo Ranger. I personally think you need to have some kind of light option, then either a darker option or craft option for sure.

We had a few beer options, but if you're just having one generic light beer - there's really not a ton of difference between miller, coors, and bud light. I'd just go with whatever one is cheapest if you know you don't have a ton of beer drinkers anyway.

That's fair. We're not far from St. Louis, so I've never seen anyone drink beer other than Coors or Bud, unless you count the collegiate days of Natty Light.

I think Miller Light or Michelob are better options because more people choose those. At least where I’m from

Yes, it's your wedding and should be about you, but you have also invited guests and as a host, you want to make your guests feel welcome and happy. So it is really a balancing act, because I'm sure you have a budget to consider as well. Of course, good guests should be happy to be there and not complain about choices...

I think this is a case of knowing your audience. I live in San Diego, and it's all about craft beer here. I don't even drink beer myself. But our venue gives us a selection of a few local beers as well as Coors, Corona and Bud.

If the majority of the people don't drink beer, I would not spend a lot of time or money figuring it out.
