Beer Bucket..

Keisha-Gay, on June 1, 2020 at 10:47 AM Posted in Planning 0 7

My fiancé is German but he lives in the states for over 30 years! He still celebrates his German traditions, also he got family back in Germany who will be attending the the wedding. They absolutely love their Beers and I was thinking of having a beer bucket during the cocktail hour as a surprise for them.

MY mom' has a picture of my grandfather and his father, coming home from work. In Denmark. Coming out of a Beergarden each literally carrying a bucket with a cover . And about a gallon of beer inside. For everyone at dinner. Most beer was not individually bottled. Stop at the Bakers for fresh bread, and maybe a pudding or pie. And get a bucket of beer next stop, and a 5 minute walk home, a workman's family dinner on pay day.
I am guessing you mean something different?

Ah. We use washtubs of ice and bottles. But in these days of kegs and ponys, various packaging, I thought maybe a bucket of beer meant a gallon / 4 quart container full.

A keg? Check with your venue. Some allow them and some don't. I think buckets of ice with German (and local) beers would be tons of fun! Maybe at a welcome dinner or rehearsal dinner?
