Beer and seltzer’s

Bailey, on March 30, 2021 at 9:10 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 2 8
We are doing a beer and wine only bar. I am trying to decide percentage wise on how much beer vs seltzer (white claw, truly, etc) to get! Our friends will mainly drink seltzer’s I believe but we have a wide age range of People coming. What percentage of beer and what percentage of seltzer’s should I do? I already have calculated wine.

I think it depends on your crowd! If this were me, I would load up on seltzers and offer only a select few beers for the guys. My friends love seltzers - heck, my fiancé even loves seltzers LOL. And in May, they are so refreshing. It would definitely vary between crowds. You know your friends better than anyone!

If you were unsure, you could always do half and half and try to accommodate different tastes. For example, I don't love beer and would totally grab a seltzer before any beer, but a Blue Moon would be more than fine with me if the seltzers ran out! And a more generic beer for the beer lovers.

Not sure if that even answered your question, but just a thought!

    Agree with all of this.

Also if you can add in High Noons, imo those are the best seltzer

I had to look those up! I've never tried but they look yummy and refreshing! My friends and I are on a Bold Rock Cider kick right now, so not really a seltzer but so so good. They also have Blue Moon seltzers that are great!

I would probably do 70/30 seltzer. I attended a wedding with 3 different White Claw flavors and they ran out about 2 hours before the wedding ended! There was a ton of beer left.

Omg Bold Rock ciders are amazing.

OP, I agree with everyone else that this is really a know your crowd thing. Maybe take a quick poll of your guests to see who prefers what and go from there.

THE best! Sangria or pineapple are so hard to find but so amazing.

I also second the pole! I did a pole on my instagram just for fun and found out so many things that people prefer as guests!

Definitely a know your crowd thing! We'll have a single pack of cider available for the one person who we know likes those but not wine or beer. (And we'll only have that available for her because she's playing a song while FH and I take communion during our ceremony and we wanted to do a little something extra special for her.) Otherwise, we aren't even bothering with seltzer. We will have some guests that like it well enough, but the prefer beer and wine. Reading through MK's response, it sounds like her crowd and mine are pretty much opposite in terms of what they like to drink!
