Beauty plan

Hey all!

Im getting married in May of 2020 and trying to decide on hair and make up. Not sure how it works though! I want to get my Hair and makeup done at a salon not on site. So you pay for a trial run and then if you like it then confirm for wedding day? What if you don’t like it?

Wouldn’t it be expensive to try a few places since you pay for the trial?

any input would be appreciated!

Thanks!

If you don’t like it at the trial you tell your stylist what changes to make and they’ll do it the way you want on your wedding day. I’m using my usual salon so I’m not doing a trial since I love their work but if you’re particular about your look or you’re using an unfamiliar stylist then I’d recommend a trial.

Yea I was worried about paying for a bunch of trials. I chose my HMUA super carefully and paid the deposit before my trial. Luckily it turned out great.

I did two trials prior to booking (one was $80, one was $100) but I think it's more common to book then do a trial closer to your wedding, then if you don't like anything try to change it during the trial or come up with a plan.

I only did a makeup trial. I had it the night of my engagement party and she also did my makeup for our engagement photoshoot. I loved how my makeup artist did my makeup so I booked her right away! I didn't do a hair trial since the hair lady I always go to will be doing my hair.
