Battery operated unity candle?

Elizabeth, on June 27, 2018 at 10:30 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4
Our plan was to do a unity candle during our ceremony. Since we are getting married in the forest, we did ask if we would be able to do this. After a yes answer I bought a unity candle, and found the perfect words for our officiant to use during this part of the ceremony. Unfortunately, we just got told two weeks before the wedding that we can not in fact have an open flame. We’re open to a sand pouring ceremony but we were really looking forward to the unity candle. My aunt has some battery operated candles she has offered us. My question is: is it going to look stupid to use battery operated candles and light a pretend flame?

If you really want yes but it won't be lighting a new candle together---- would have to find a way to make it look like it turns on right when yall "go to light it" -- maybe your officiant can hit the button when yall go to light it

Hi Elizabeth! Wow, your plans to get married in the forest sounds beautiful! Smiley love A battery-operated candle would be perfect! It would still give off the same effect and uphold the unity significance! I hope everything works out well! Good luck!

Is it open flame that is a no no or is it smokeless candles that are needed? I needed smokless candles for the first wedding. (I never knew they existed!)

I think the battery operated one would look a little odd, to be blunt. Maybe you can do a unity candle at the reception?

Honestly I think this would look strange. Are there other unity ceremony ideas you might do instead? Plant a tree together in a little pot? Pour paint on a canvas? Blend sand?
