Bathroom Baskets?

Kelly, on July 11, 2021 at 11:04 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 11
My wedding is finally approaching faster than I can imagine!! A nearly two-year engagement, and it will finally be happening next month.

So anyway, finally getting to all the last-minute details. Are baskets of things on the bathroom counter still a thing? Like a stain stick? Tylenol? Maybe makeup remover wipes? Mints? What all do people put in them? I'm trying to be extra accommodating for my guests since this is a destination wedding and they are kind enough to still come.
Also a debate with my mom, just in the women's room, or one in both men's and women's m
Thanks all!!

The items you mentioned are great I would also add Bobby pins, safety pins, band aids, hair spray, deodorant spray, feminine products, tissues, contact solution.

The four things that were most used in my sisters (for women, i don't know about men) were hair spray, bobby pins, feminine products and tylenol

I’m skipping the men’s basket at my wedding. The last wedding I went to had Axe in the men’s bathroom and my fiancé chased our friend around the venue spraying it at him. Our friend fell and broke his collar bone. Yup. That’s my future husband 😂

I figure if there is something the guys need there will be a female around to get it for them but this group cannot be trusted with nice things.

Hmm I’ve never seen or heard of bathroom baskets. Don’t most women carry what they need?

I would recommend putting one of those small emergency sewing kits in the bathroom basket. One time I was at a wedding and the strap on my dress completely broke off and the emergency sewing kit in the bathroom basket enabled me to quickly sew the strap back on and prevented me from having to leave the wedding.

Other things we included in ours were: mini advil packets, pads, tampons, mints, makeup remover wipes, mini bottle of hairspray, and bobby pins. There are probably some things I'm forgetting, and I don't think we had one in the men's bathroom, just the women's.

We did them, and our guests were very appreciative! I would say about 50% of the items actually got used. Here's a list of what we included:

Women: Hairspray, Pads, Tampons, Clear Nail Polish, Listerine, Oil Blotting Cloths, Face Masks, First Aid Kit, Dental Picks, Saline, Tissue, Wet Ones, Tums, Deodorant, Dry Shampoo, Bobby Pins, Hair Bands, Tide To-Go, Lint Roller, Shout Wipes.

Men: Small Hair Combs, Listerine, Face Masks, First Aid Kit, Dental Picks, Saline, Tissue, Wet Ones, Tums, Deodorant, Tide To-Go, Lint Roller, Shout Wipes.

The best bathroom basket I’ve seen included flip flops of all sizes!! So that women who’s feet hurt don’t have to walk around barefoot. I thought it was the best idea!

I only made a bathroom basket because it was a backyard wedding and I thought guests would be hot and uncomfortable. I put sunblock, bug spray, face wipes, Advil, AND.... disposable tooth brushes. They were a hit and were almost all used. They have a pick at one end and a brush with toothpaste already inside on the other end. I would recommend!

They are definitely still a thing for the weddings I’ve attended, and we are having one in each bathroom. We are not doing flip flops, but are basically including everything Stacey outlined above - they covered all the necessities in that post!
