Barefoot bride

Heather, on June 17, 2023 at 12:15 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I'm having a barefoot beach vow renewal. I'm super confused.
I found my dream dress, but somehow have not managed to think of what to do. As I'm going barefoot for the ceremony but will need shoes for dinner. How should my dress hemmed? I'll speak with the lady who I have my alteration appointment with when I go, but I was wondering if anyone else has been in the same situation, and if so what was done/ how was it resolved?

I would probably wear flats/flat sandals so that the hemming would be appropriate for either one.

Agreed. Just try and keep your shoes as close to your barefoot height as possible. Also, you might want to have them on hand for the ceremony just in case. I see your wedding is in September, and depending where you’re located the sand could still be pretty hot and uncomfortable to stand still on for long periods of time

Agree on trying to keep flat shoes. I wore sneakers. I feel the fear of the dress length. I thought my dress was the right length when it got hemmed until I started truly walking in it wedding day and I realized I had to look down as I walked basically anywhere (so I’m looking down in a lot of our walking photos and down the aisle 🙄) so I didn’t trip.

Get the dress hemmed for being barefoot. That way you will not trip over it. It should be at least an inch off the ground for that reason, which is not enough space to worry about any gap.

That would be a smart idea.

We're in Maryland. It's going to be in O.C. So same state just a few hours away.
I was hoping to be barefoot but if need be I will wear some sort of shoes as I know that pain all too well. Lol

I saw a cute pair of Betsy Johnsons at DB. But the ones in my dress color look horrible with my dress. So I'll check out the silver ones.
I do not want to trip! My dress is so flowy. I'm freaking out more this time around lol.

If I get it hemmed for barefoot, in your opinion would the dress look okay with heels/ wedges for after the ceremony?

That would be fine. No one will notice or care that there is a gap.

There are sandals that show most of your feet, just like barefoot. Maybe you can pick that type of shoes so that it can protect your foot but at the same time can show most of your foot with some elegancy.

I just customized two pairs of wedding shoes for myself. When I wear the sandal, I have a barefoot feeling because it reveals most of my foot. Personally, I don't like the flip flop type of shoe but it hurts my toes. But I like the below sandal that I pick, it really so cute.

Let me know if you like them. I am also helping my friend to customize her shoes and making a few pairs for the bridesmaid too. I am so excited to make them and hopefully they all like the shoes.

I was thinking about flip flops, but I know the horror of trying to wear them in the sand. It's a whole mess. So if I decide to wear shoes, I want them to have sides and a back.
The top pair are cute but not my style. The bottom pair are cute, but wouldn't go with my dress. But I would wear them with shorts/jeans.
