Barefoot and not on a beach?

Shavauna, on August 25, 2017 at 3:19 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 21

I love the look of barefoot sandals, and the look great with my dress. However, I am getting married in a historic mill, and my FH is wearing long wool socks, dress shoes, and a kilt. What are your thoughts on going barefoot when no one else will be? Has anyone else done this? In an old industrial building?

Ehh, I would get some real shoes. Do you really want to run the risk of getting hurt while wakling down the aisle.

Make sure the floor is clear and able to be walked on with bare feet. If it's smooth and you don't mind the chill, go for it. Do a trial run if your venue will let you.

Have some back up sandals/shoes just in case you change your mind or you have to go outside for pictures.

I would probably be too cold being barefoot in an industrial building!

I'm feeling broken glass under my feet thinking about this. They look great but can anyone see them under your dress anyway?

I wouldn't, but that is just me. Here is an idea, my niece is having a garden wedding, so she bought barefoot sandals that are lacy, and is taking them to a shoemaker and having clear or white sandal bottoms put on them. Her friend did it, and apparently it turned out really well. Have you thought of something like that?

This sounds like a bad idea... no to mention does not match your FH wool socks

I personally think it's gross when people walk around barefoot in public but that's just me. You don't know where other people's feet, or shoes have been. I had to try my wedding dress on barefoot and I was super grossed out lol.

I doing this. I injuryed my knee at work about a year ago. I will not dare wear heels plus barefoot sandals are super cute. Please have your own mind on this and do it if you want to. Dont worry about what others have to say, you are the only one that has to stand there when your wedding comes. Be comfortable!!!

If the venue is safe, I would totally go for it. I am getting married on a rooftop and plan on going barefoot. I avoid wearing shoes whenever possible.

That would be a no from me. If you really want to wear them, put them on when you're on the dance floor? But the floor might get sticky from people spilling drinks or someone steps on your foot... etc.

I'm planning on being barefoot, so I say DO IT! Just make sure that the venue is safe. I'd have a back up plan (like cute flats or sandals) in case something breaks the day-off, too. Better safe than sorry. Or, you could go barefoot for the ceremony and wear flats/sandals during the reception (or vice versa) if there if one location is better than the other.

I'm doing this, but we are having a beach wedding. Anywhere else I wouldn't do it.

I knew a bride who went barefoot at an outdoor wedding in a field. She was barefoot for the entire ceremony and outdoor reception. I just found it strange.

I hate wearing shoes and would probably go barefoot if I could.. however I think I'll probably just wear lace TOMS because I don't know how my venue would feel about me being barefoot lol

I'm doing this! I bought 'foot stickers' they're made for pools yoga etc and they protect your soles and are slip resistant

I really love the look of barefoot sandals, but I'm getting married in the evening in October. I decided against it for the wedding but I'm definitely getting some for my honeymoon!
