Bar Packages

MMMJEN, on June 27, 2019 at 10:21 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8

Hi all,

Quick question, my venue's event planner sent over the "premium bar package" options for our wedding and they seem to be very "basic" options. Missing names such as Crown, Dewer's, Maker's Mark, etc. It also seems that the wine selection for the most part are very inexpensive bottles. Is this what I should expect? We are paying $40 per person (4 hours) plus tax/gratuity?

Spirits: Ketel One Vodka, Grey Goose Vodka, Titos Vodka, Hendricks Gin, Sapphire Gin, Zacapa 23-year Rum, Patron Tequila, Bulleit Bourbon, Knob Creek Bourbon, Old Forrester Bourbon, Woodford Rye, Bulleit Rye, Gentlemen Jack Whiskey, Johnny Walker Black Scotch, Baileys Irish Cream

Wine:

Chardonnays: Brampton, Bolla, Acacia

Sauvignon Blanc: Two Oceans

Cabernets: Chateau St. Jean, Callaway, Alamos Forest Glen,

Pinot Noir: Beringer, Barton, Guestier

Selection of (2) Vodka, (1) Gin, (2) Bourbon, and (2) Whiskey

Selection of (2) White Wines and (2) Red Wines

I'm not very knowledgeable about wine, but Woodford, Knob Creek, Grey Goose, and Hendricks would all be considered premium where I live. Sure, Maker's Mark, Crown, etc. would also be premium, but that doesn't mean that they're the only ones. These seem like typical premium bar options to me.

Have you compared it to the basic bar options?

I'd ask to see the other package options if those are the names you're looking for. Your package is really great in my opinion. With Ketel One and Hendricks in the mix, I know I'd be drinking martinis all night Smiley xd

I believe Bulleit, Knob Creek, and Old Forrester would be considered more premium than Makers Mark, Crown, and Dewars.

So those options may still be available to you in an intermediate package, it might be worth asking!

Thanks, Nicole! That's super helpful. We were considered mainly about the whiskey as they don't offer Crown or Jameson which I know are crowd favorites in my family. I will certainly ask the venue. Thanks again!

Yeah definitely ask! Sometimes venues will swap out a bottle for you, it never hurts to find out.

I don't know as much about the wines, but, like others have said, those are top shelf spirits. So much so that I won't let my FH buy any of these brands--they are too expensive!! lol

Not sure what you were expecting, but you're getting some good liquor for your wedding!

Those are for the most part are premium (or better) labels. There may be another package she/he didn't mention that would include makers mark and others. Crown and Jameson are middle of the road brands. You might want to check out the package under this one!
