FH and I have been going back and forth on how to do the bar at our reception. Our venue does alcohol based on consumption ($5 per beer, $8 per glass of wine, $8 per mixed drink). They supply all alcohol and we are not allowed to buy from outside vendors.
Our expected guest count is 75, with about 50 of them being drinkers.
Some options we have considered are:
1. Open bar only for cocktail hour
2. Open bar for cocktail hour and dinner
3. Bar tokens (3 per person, good for any drink option)
4. Cut off open bar at a certain dollar amount. Our event coordinator would come to let us know when we are close to and reach the predetermined amount.
5. Cover only signature drinks all night
What have you found to work best for either your wedding or weddings you have been to? We are open to other suggestions/combinations of our options above.
