If anyone has ever done or seen this before, please share! My fiancé and I are going to be having a pretty traditional ceremony performed by a pastor and mixing in a little bit of a message into the vows. In our church, baptism is a public declaration of your faith, in front of your friends and family. My fiancé and I would love to get baptised together, but now I'm thinking it would be cool to make it a part of the wedding. I know some concerns may be for the length of the ceremony, so don't worry because I do not want a ceremony any longer than 20-30 minutes max. If anyone has seen or done this, I'd love to hear your experience!

I think it would be a great idea professing your love for each other and for Christ...

Once you explained the baptism process, I realized it will not add a lot of additional time t your wedding ceremony and I LOVE it!

My aunt and uncle did something similar, but it was their daughter that they baptized. They had her baptism in the morning and they were married in the same church that night. It worked out great actually. Both very nice ceremonies!

I'm online investigating the same thing--except we are already married and are looking at having a vow renewal service for our 10th anniversary. My husband was not a Christian and I had gotten out of the church when we got married. Now that we both have a new commitment in our faith (my husband a new believer and myself wanting to rededicate myself) I have been considering how we might incorporate this into the renewal ceremony. We are undecided if we will actually incorporate the two but I would like to as it will be a very intimate setting with just our parents and son and for me that feels more personal than being in a big church in front of strangers. I was considering the method you were proposing (sign of the cross and/or sprinkling). I think as long as you aren't doing immersion then you are fine incorporating it into the ceremony. If you want the immersion experience, I agree with the other poster, make that something you do before your wedding since you would need to change clothes, etc... And consider the immersion experience as well (again maybe the day before your wedding), because not knocking the sprinkling or sign of the cross, but there is something very powerful about seeing someone immersed and "raised to life".....so I can imagine it's more powerful for a person of faith to experience that. Just some things we are considering as well.....Best wishes on your upcoming nuptials!

I want to do this too. I wasn't sure if it was something others had thought of or had done before. God is the center of any marriage and I think it would be so special to include Him in the wedding too! Did you talk to your pastor about it? I'm just starting to get wedding stuff planned and would love any insight that you found about doing this!
